Any type of pass rush , NT , OLB , DE
so you are saying all of the above? hahahha
Well two out of the three , don’t care which two lol . We still got Steve Williams so a CB maybe in the 3rd.
hoping Steve Williams can have a good year next season.
Corner, Corner, Corner. Maybe not in the first round (don’t want to reach) but it is absolutely our biggest need.
agree with this…. might not be a selection in the first round, but that is our biggest need.. There are a lot of needs though.
id be down for a NT
Telesco can get us a ring if he lures verner in fa and drafts a pro ready nt in the draft. I’m not sure but usually cbs are in demand early in the draft. The bengals need one the steelers eagles titans ect. All I know is verrett and dennard are first rd locks roby is a late first best mid second worst pic depending on what he does between now and draft. The rest are developmental cb’s. Last yrs class proved dt’s can start right away especially the way nix held his own against bama last yr. I say we keep freeny take nix first and trade our 2nd and 3rd of next yr for a early 2nd rd shot at roby then use our 2nd 2nd rd pick for van noy
that draft class would be SICK. it would be amazing
I like the way u think
Cornerback & NT. We still haven’t upgraded from Jammer & Cason, and Cam Thomas gets thrown around like a ragdoll, and it is embarrassing to watch a man that size get pushed around by smaller players.
I think wright has finally turned the corner. He has consistently been shutting demaryious Thomas down addae has been violently disrupting plays. I think we are 1 cb (preferably roby for his quickness speed and ball skills along with his strong suit being zone ) from being as good as our d line permits
did you see Jammer in the game on Sunday?
I saw him once… and he got burned, I think. Did he play well? I was in shock of the play calling. It was a blur, and my brain deliberately tuned out for 3 straight quarters.. lol.
he came in when Chris Harris got hurt and we picked on him from that point forward. Big reason why the offense made it’s run. Jammer was covering Allen in a lot of those situations.
Weren’t both TDs when jammer was in coverage?
yup…. and that long bomb to Allen was against Jammer also… Almost all passing plays were on Jammer. Philip picked on Jammer as soon as he stepped on the field.
If that doesn’t tell the whole story about why we cut him, I don’t know what does. So many folks were angry that he was cut. Let’s be real… the second he trots out, the ball is going his way for BIG gains, and multiple TD’s, within a quarter’s worth of play. Our CB situation isn’t that great, but we could have THAT guy back there, with Cason getting torched on the other side.
yea… it was crazy to see the Chargers light him up. I am sure Bill Belichick and Tom Brady saw that on Sunday as well.
Cornerback, pass rusher and a more agressive play caller!
JUSTIN GILBERT is my choice. I’m not sure he will drop to 25 though. Maybe Tom T can move us up to nab this guy.
Gilbert is the best, not as polished as denard but has more potential. Pretty certian he won’t fall to us. Think roby is our best bet and if taught to be more disciplined rather than trying to pic six every pass he can be great verett would be good too but roby’s speed keeps him as the 2nd best cb in this draft to me. I think one of your 2 outside men have to be able to run with the best of em.
Verrett seems to be the most likely for us to get. He’s much better than Roby anyways. If he’s not there, I would prefer Telesco to select or trade back to get another decent pick. Picking from one of the last few spots in the first round would probably land us with someone like Van Noy, Nix, or a corner from the second tier on the caliber scale. I’d be just fine with that if we got another third or even second round pick from it.
I would be more inclined to go the other way. Trade up and get an inpact player. Not just a guy who will be an ok starter. We have lots of ok starters.
Just because you trade up doesn’t necessarily mean you get an impact starter. Same thing goes for trading down. Lower pick doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be just an ok starter. See: Allen, Keenan.
True, but odds are better.
I like Gilbert in the 1st and Jackson Jeffcoat in the 2nd Interior linemen can be found in the 3rd or later rounds or possibly through FA
Corner, more durable running back, another left tackle, solid nose tackle and pass rusher,
what happened to Vaughn Martin this year? We released him?
Yeah released. Picked up by Dolphins.
he was a free agent and the dolphins picked him up…. they released him
We do need a #1 cb, but I think if there is a Real Deal Nose Tackle (and we don’t get one in Free agency) then that’s what we need most in a 3-4 D. PT reminded me the Hardwick may not be long for the Nfl, not an early need but definitely a position to think about in later rounds.
