Chargers Have Kept Peyton and Broncos In Check This Season

The Denver Broncos have been an offensive juggernaut all season long. It has been well documented and many people have already placed them in the Super Bowl. They have a ton of weapons on offense and have the league’s MVP throwing the rock all around the field.  In 14 games this season they have racked up over 400 offensive yards. They have only been held under the 400 yard mark twice this year. Just twice!

Guess which teams held them under that mark this season?

The San Diego Chargers and… the San Diego Chargers! Thank you Peter King for that golden nugget!

It can’t be a coincidence! If the Chargers were able to do it twice  already and no other team was able to hold them under that mark this year, then there has to be something that we are doing that can hold them in check.

Now our defense is playing the best that it has all season. We will already be going in with some confidence knowing that we have held the Broncos to their lowest offensive marks all year. Mike McCoy knows the Broncos well. John Pagano has been part of this Chargers defensive staff for a long time and has seen the success we have had against Peyton Manning. He knows how to be successful against Peyton. The Chargers defense gives Peyton some problems.

The defense will have to march back onto the field in Denver against the Broncos on Sunday and hold them in check all over again. It will not be easy. They will need to get into Peyton’s head. They will need to prevent the big play. They will need to lock down that receiving unit. They have a lot on their plate, but they have a good gameplan and have shown that they can get it done.

Got to tweet this to Hulk Hogan!!!!!!!!

    • veazy

I think it would make more sense to do against the Patriots, because for some reason he still hates them.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

It would be amazing! So many youngsters and new players on the roster, but he still would get a ton of respect.

    • Captain Kush

I think they need to bring in Hulk Hogan.Ooooh Yeah, Hulkamania!!!!!!! The Niners brought in Ric Flair last week and it worked.

  • arnie

These are just the facts. This is why I’m not worried about the Chargers wining on sunday. It’s got nothing to do with ” not being able to do it again”, the truth is the Chargers have already done it TWICE. All i’m looking for is someone to show, other than “the NFL.com has them favored to win it all” that the outcome will be any different?

  • Stefanie Smith

I am praying and getting my stomach tied in knots. I am glad that there are games to watch on Saturday and I can get prepared for the Chargers on Sunday. Plus, I listen to that goofy commercial with the juke box music… Chargers do well when that commercial comes on. lol.

SD has played Denver tough this year and kept both games close, even though to be fair, Denver blew them up in the first game then took their foot off the gas in the second half and allowed SD to come crawling back… The final score of that game doesn’t show how much of a beat down it truly was.

The second game was much closer. I’m not going to say Denver had an off night on the short week or any of that nonsense. SD outplayed them that night, and there’s no doubt about it. What amuses me is that it still took an all around “A” game and an onside kick for SD to pull off that win despite how poorly Denver played.

Can SD win on Sunday? Absolutely. But I think it’s going to take a lot of mistakes on Denver’s part.

If both teams come out and play their “A” games, Denver is going to wipe the field with the Chargers. It won’t even be close. If SD plays their “A” game and Denver plays their “C” game, there’s hope. Unfortunately, considering how Denver lost this round last year to the Ravens, I have a feeling they are going to come out in full force, and if they do, SD might as well not even show up, because Denver is going to make an example out them and show them what a real football team who looks like.

If SD comes out and plays the best game of their lives, and if Denver overlooks them and makes a lot of mistakes, SD will win. Any other scenario and this is an easy win for Denver.

Sorry, I know how much you’d love to see SD win this game, but it’s just not going to happen. Denver might as well be playing San Diego State.

sounds like you are already overlooking the chargers… but it’s cool.

      • Guest

Yep, I’m already looking forward to the Colts game next week… I’m not the slightest bit worried about the Chargers. This game is a gimmie.
