What Will The Broncos Excuse Be For Losing On Sunday?

Why the heck is there so many EXCUSES coming out of Denver on why they lost to the Chargers? It just gives us so much more motivation to go back in town and shut them all up.

“The Broncos were on a short week.”

SO DID WE! We had the same amount of rest as the Broncos in that game and had the same amount of time to prepare for the game!

“The Broncos had their worst game.”

That is because the Charger defense shut the Broncos offense down and the offense rolled all over their defense! Philip Rivers and company controlled the clock and the game with the pace of the offense and Peyton Manning was helpless on the sideline. When Peyton finally got on the field, he couldn’t find a receiver to get the ball to. The Chargers forced their worst game. The Chargers forced the action. Don’t discredit the job that the Chargers did.

Here is what Broncos LB Wesley Woodyard said about the game:

“It was just one of those games we just weren’t at our best,” Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard said Monday to the Denver media. “I really don’t remember too much about it, but I do remember we really didn’t have that edge that we should have had on the field. It happens, and it can’t happen again. That was just one of those nights we didn’t show up to play our best game.”

EXCUSES!

What will the excuse be for the Broncos losing on Sunday? Von Miller didn’t play in the game?

    Stupid Donkeys

  • joerockt

Hopefully they will be in the position to make excuses, and we’ll just leave them in our wake.

  • davacho

on NFL.com a bronco fan said the chargers were average and didn’t belong in the playoffs. i asked him if we won this sunday, would the bolts still be average? ’cause i asked the same thing of a bengals fan LAST week! the dude said, we were average either way! LMAO- ridonkulous.

I tried to come up with a serious excuse Denver might use if they lose, but I couldn’t do it. It’s like imagining what people will say if the sun all of a sudden came up in the west tomorrow morning… It’s just flat out not going to happen.

    • Gunnar Martin

Hahaha you crack me up. “It’s just flat out not gonna happen.” HAH! What was it exactly that happened last time? We crushed you guys, no way around it. “It” DID happen. Your analogy is quite flawed considering that the sun would have come up from the west 6 out of the last 8 times, if you’re comparing it to Denver’s home games against us. Now please try to refrain from using any of the EXCUSES that this whole article was about.

      • Guest

No excuse. SD beat Denver last time, just like Denver beat SD the time before. And the time before that. And the time before that. Manning owns SD as a Bronco, and Denver is a far better team. It’s not hard to figure out what’s going to happen unless you’re looking at the game through baby blue glasses.

        • Phil Rios

Oh look out everyone – we have a bronco fan since 2012 over here! Go back to your bandwagon, boy.

  • Gunnar Martin

Haha yeah I think they’ll use the Von Miller excuse quite a bit after Sunday. Or the weather was too cold :)

  • DXW

It’s much more likely that Manning will sit halfway through the third quarter so he can rest up for The Colts than it is for Denver to lose to the SD powder puff girls.

    • arnie

Glad you can share your opinions, the FACTS are he’s more likely to be resting, because that is where the Chargers Offense will keep him. Watching. As the Chargers move on in the playoffs.

      • DXW

You’re assuming the Chargers will keep Manning on the bench because they were able to do that in one game… Do you not see the problem with that kind of thinking?

I hit a royal flush on a video poker game in Vegas once and won twelve grand, but that doesn’t mean it’ll ever happen again.

Honestly, I’m just happy Denver isn’t playing the Chiefs. Not that I think there was any chance in hell of KC beating Denver in the playoffs, just like I don’t think there’s any chance in hell of SD beating Denver on Sunday, but if by some strange twist of fate Denver does lose (can’t even type those words without laughing at the absurdity of the thought… ), at least it’ll be to Mike McCoy, who I still really like.

Don’t you get enough of that from your wife?

Enjoy the last week of the Chargers season.

          • w1LLz

Meanwhile your wife loves every minute of being with a real man/Chargers fan. GTFO here

          • DXW

Good one, Don Rickles, you got me…

Wow. Way to get personal jerk!

          • DXW

Oh, lighten up, it was a joke… I’m sure she doesn’t point.

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Did you just come back with a “your mom” type joke? Grow up kid!

        • Kenny Redman

          Ummm….no. that was twice bro.

        • arnie

The only assumption being made here is by you. The Chargers have already proved they can do it, TWICE. The facts are the Chargers controlled the time of possession in BOTH GAMES. You are “assuming” it was luck.
You are “assuming” they cannot do it again.
At the end of the day the Chargers had no chance in hell, of having a wining record, making the playoffs, or beating the Bengals. We’ve heard all this before. No matter how many times the NFL Network say’s Peyton will be in the Superbowl, doesn’t make it so.

  • Tazzster

Well, last time it was because they didn’t have Wes Welker. Which is totally understandable, because every team without Wes Welker sucks. I mean, just look at the Patriots… last year they had Wes and they were good. This year they don’t and they are totally suckin…wait… aren’t they in the playoffs?. uh.. nevermind.

    • arnie

Remember the first game they had Welker. The Chargers still held them to 28 points, and controlled the clock.

      • Guest

I remember that game… it was 28 to 6 when Denver downshifted into cruise control and coasted to a win. The final score was not a reflection of that game. SD never stood a chance.

        • arnie

You mean wen the D SHUT. THEM. DOWN. Again, the Chargers in-ability to score TD’s, IN THE REDZONE, early was the difference.

          • Guest

Stop making excuses. The Chargers didn’t score in the red zone because Denver stopped them. Denver has owned SD for the past two years. If you deny that, you’re just making excuses.

          • steve

I guess it doesn’t work both ways. When the Broncos win, it’s the Chargers beating themselves. When the Chargers win, the Broncos are making excuses. This nonsense does not surprise me coming from the NFL’s most ignorant fan base.

          • arnie

Avoiding the issue at hand won’t change the facts. Chargers controlled the clock in BOTH GAMES. If they did it once, i’d call it luck, but TWICE? That’s a pattern.
Chargers have struggled in the red zone all season. Even the eagles stopped us. That doesn’t make the broncos special, it just means the Defense did their jobs. The difference in the first game, again, Chargers kicked field goals. denver scored TD’s. That is the ONLY reason they won.

      • 752858189

The chargers are a well coached team and could beat anyone…no matter who is out there.

    • davacho

caldwell filled the slot for welker and had 5-59-2TDs… welker only had 2 TDs in a game this season twice before… not sure welker would have or could have done much better. i’m not saying we’re going to win, but i believe we can!

    • Tazzster

You guys are intense. You see it was a joke.

Obviously it wasn’t not having Welker. They got beat, just like we got beat in the first one.

It should be a good game and I look forward to it. Hoping the bolts play some of their best football this Sunday.

  • arnie

Ernie, that’s the beauty of this game. They have no excuses. The broncos had a week a of rest and a full week of preparations. Maybe Manning will put it in “cruise control” and give us a break….

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Right… there won’t be any excuses and as you can see from the comments from the Broncos fan that is in here… WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! According to him, we already lost the game… and a lot of people are thinking that same way.

      US AGAINST THE WORLD!

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

oh yea Arnie… would you think Louis Nix is a good selection with the last pick in the first round?

      • arnie

        In Telesco I trust.

  • Tristian Shelley

Honestly not a chargers fan but im a niners and chiefs fan rooting for the chargers. Bet the broncos had excuses last year too. Truth is if I was mike Mccoy all ive heard all week from the broncos is how much they need to stop the run. So id come out throwing all over the lot because I promise they won’t expect it. Ive heard the crap of no shootout with manning and yet 3 teams did it and 5 others almost did it. They have no defense whatsoever especially with Von Miller gone so no pass rush either. They hold recievers more than any team and get away with pushoffs more than any team. Manning is a regular season QB and the chargers have always had his number. I look so foward to a second straight year of excuse making from denver. I also look forward to you guys coming out of the AFC.

    • 752858189

You are correct about the defense and with Von out they are bound to struggle. The comments about Manning may be slightly biased. Ok, I agree with what you say about defense and what does that do? It puts more obligation on Manning. Manning has one Superbowl to his credit. Considering how weak the Broncos defense is I think it more than incredible they have come this far. I like Rivers; but I say put him where Manning is with such a weak defense and a pretty bummed out offense as well; doubtful that Rivers would have done so much with that deck of cards. With Manning on the field I say anything is possible. I take the Broncos by 14.

  • Stefanie Smith

I always laugh when someone comes on here and tells us we are going to lose. If they are that confident in that belief, why bother telling us about it? We’re supposed to be delusional. It’s like they are trying to convince themselves. It doesn’t sound like confidence to me. There is this shred of doubt that Manning will choke, or they will lose. And as to Manning, choking and falling apart, there is a history of that.

    • 752858189

I say unfair criticism. All great players of the game have good games and bad. He does not have a history of choking….none at all. When the team that a quarterback plays on chokes that does not indicate the quarterback choked. Rivers has certainly had his good and bad games. I do not think Rivers is a choker, but compared to Manning……well forget that—he doesn’t compare. You can take Mannings worst season and it is unlikely that Rivers will have such a season his entire career.

  • Kenny Redman

I love how Donkey fans believe that Welker will be the difference maker this time around. You know because that 21 yards that he got in the first game was the catalyst that was missing in the 2nd game. Weddle made him look like a boy.
All the Pressure is on Denver this game; whether it’s because ESPN gave them the Lombardi Trophy at week 3, because Mannings notorious record of going one and done, or John Fox being known as a choker in big games; I wouldn’t be surprised if we started hearing chants for Tebow by the end of the game.

    • Kenny Redman

Oh….and their excuse will be all the pot smoke was in their eyes. And they had sand in their vaginas.

      • Stefanie Smith

The line about chants for Tebow made me spit out my soda from laughing. Good one!

their excuse will be the their OLine needs an upgrade, cause peyton doesn’t like the vegetarian diet of grass. Ingram is coming peyton…

  • luv1138

I’m hoping for the best this week. I hope the good Chargers show up on Sunday :D

  • Jay crisp

Dont get too confident guys, this is the playoffs not the regular season. Quit talking bout the past, what happened is now history and whatever happens this upcoming sunday vs the broncos is a mystery. All im saying is to expect the broncos best effort and may the best team win. I truly hope the chargers can do it and we can keep living the miracle. One last thing ido remember reading something from either boltbeat or bolts from the blue saying “the sky is blue and the sun is gold because the man upstairs is a bolts fan too”

    • 752858189

Good attitude. I think it will be exciting. Broncos have a great offense, but the defense is almost in the grave yard. 30% of the starters out for the season on D. Injuries mean so much going into the playoffs. If the Broncos take an early lead I doubt the Chargers will catch them. I still say Broncos by 14. I think much will depend on how well the defensive replacements play will determine the game.

  • veazy

Let’s just remember that it works both ways. I know the Chargers are doing good, but I got sick of all the fucking excuses put out whenever the Chargers would lose. Whatever happens, just be proud of this team and don’t let anything get to your head.

  • anon76returns

When will the Chargers players stop beating their wives?
Or is it not cool to answer a question with another question?

    • Kenny Redman

The Chargers don’t beat their wives….they beat their bitches……and they’ll stop as soon as the bitch Donkeys stop stepping on the field.

      • anon76returns

Which the Broncos will do, right after they beat the Chargers. Enjoy the offseason.

  • Calman21

The excuse will be be….omg I did not realize L. Green was that freaking fast.
