San Diego Chargers LB Thomas Keiser was arrested on Sunday on assault and battery charges, per UT San Diego. The details on the incident have not been released, but bail was set at $8000.The team is aware of the situation and have not commented on it yet. Keiser likely will still be available to play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Keiser has stepped in as the pass rushing linebacker on the roster and has come through with 4 1/2 sacks this season and he also came up with that big interception against Peyton Manning. He has come up with some big plays this season after starting off the year on the practice squad. He was brought up after Dwight Freeney went down with an injury and helped provide a little spark to the defense.

The defense has not had many options pass rushing the quarterback this season. When Dwight Freeney went down, we lost our best pass rusher. Keiser has helped add some pass rushing abilities, but it still is an area that is really lacking. Keiser helps fill that void a little.

    Chargers Player Provoked barleymash “Altercation”

SAN DIEGO (December 31, 2013) The owners of downtown sports bar, barleymash wish to respond to the characterizations of the incident that occurred at their restaurant on December 29, 2013 involving San Diego Chargers player, ThomasKeiser. Media reports have stated that there was an “altercation that eventually turned into a fight.” barleymash has proof that this was, instead, an unprovoked, vicious assault by Mr. Keiser on a barleymash employee.

Mr. Keiser and his party departed the restaurant after one of the individuals in his group was asked by the security staff to leave. Mr. Keiser subsequently re-entered the restaurant. He inconspicuously followed an employee to an area outside the restaurant’s office, where he sat and waited for several minutes. When the employee emerged from the office, Mr. Keiser ambushed and brutally assaulted him. Mr. Keiser ran,
but was detained by security personnel until police arrived and arrested Mr. Keiser.

The owners remain extremely upset about this incident, as barleymash is not the type of venue where incidents of this nature occur. barleymash is a sports restaurant geared toward food, sports fans and families. The owners and staff wish to stress their ongoing support of the San Diego Chargers organization.
