GIF: Philip Rivers Completely Whiffing on a Block

Breaking news: Philip Rivers  plays quarterback. So when Philip Rivers is asked to be the lead blocker on an end-around, then hilarity ensues. Check out his attempt to make a block on this reverse with Eddie Royal.

AMAZING! I love Philip Rivers. I love that he will go out there and attempt to make that play. I love it even more when he completely whiffs and gives us a good laugh about it.

Somehow Eddie Royal was still able to get the first down on that play. Probably because all of the Chiefs defenders overpursued the run and nobody was even close to him when he got the ball.

The Chargers decided to run a couple of reverses in the game yesterday. That was a surprise for the offense. We didn’t do that too often during the regular season. What will we pull out of our bag of tricks for the playoffs? Hopefully they don’t need to rely on Philip Rivers to lead block on too many more plays in the future.

    He’s so graceful! Lmao!

It’s funny because he’s an unathletic QB but it’s also true that a lot of blocks are missed by athletic players as well. (WRs, TEs RBs etc.) Teh blocking player often can’t see the guy he’s blocking for and the tackler is following the dude with the ball. Its a tracker tracking a tracker tracking the ball carrier. lol. Love Philip tho!

Even though he did not make the block, just his presence there allows Royal to get 5 more yards on the play.

In that aspect it was not a total whiff. But a good block and he gets 5 more.

he runs like a 3 legged Panda :)
but his ballsyness and heart are unmatched :)

You could just tell he was like “Uh oh. What the heck do I do here?!!?” from the way he kept turning around to look at Eddie. Of course he decided to go do whatever he could for his team. I love you Phil.

I watched “Miked up” last night on NFL Network. Rivers was miked and he came back to the huddle after that miss and said “I wiffed it” and in another he said “I’m just not that fast”. I’m glad he has no delusions about his speed. ha ha
