Ryan Mathews Should Have Been In The Pro Bowl

Players were all selected for the Pro Bowl on Friday night and there were a few snubs around the league. One of the snubs on the Chargers roster was RB Ryan Mathews. Mathews has gained back a ton of respect this season with Chargers fans, but I am not sure if his reputation has changed around the league yet. That reputation of a fumbling China Doll still probably is lingering around him.

So many things have turned around for him this season. He has a nose for the end zone. He is running with toughness and he is one of the leaders in the NFL in rushing. He should have been voted onto the roster. He is a huge asset to our top-notch offense.

Sadly, the Pro Bowl only selected 6 running backs onto their roster and there just is not enough room for Mathews on the roster. All 6 of the backs that were chosen should make the roster. They are the top 6 backs in the league.

If we had gone with Pro Bowl roster rules from years past, Ryan Mathews definitely would have made the roster. Of the 6 backs that were selected, only Jamaal Charles is in the AFC. Mathews might be the next best back in the AFC along with Knowshon Moreno this season. If only we were going by those old rules. Ryan Mathews would be a Pro Bowler.

The fact that gore is in it over guys like mathews bush Moreno Murray Morris and lacy is a joke. Stupid bandwagon niner fans smh. And how theirs only 8 wide receivers in the pro bowl is a joke too. There should be 12 receivers, 6 on each side, and 3 play in each half. With only 8 wrs in they’ll basically all be playing the whole time. The fact that u can have guys like Vincent Jackson Alshon Jeffery and desean Jackson not in makes the pro bow mean nothing. And gates should be in over Jordan Cameron as well. Scifres should prolly be in too. The pro bowl is a joke compared to any other sports all star game. Just retarded..

(And most importantly Larry Fitzgerald as well)

cameron was the right pick over gates 4 more td’s and had more yards with a revolving door at qb in cle.I do agree that there should be more wr’s selected into the probowl with the spread offense dominating the game right now.

Wow, the most sensical post I’ve ever seen Will make.

Granted Ryan Mathews has been on fire as of late, but he wasn’t consistent the entire season. Same thing with Gates and V-Jax. D-Jax should’ve made it and Jeffery didn’t heat it up til midway. Now if these players play like they have been next year they’ll make it.

It’s hard to be consistent when your offensive coordinator takes you out for quarters at a time, and anytime you get inside the 20, because he goes inexplicably pass happy for the first half of the season.. Ryan’s stats would have been so much better had Whisenhunt not been so stubborn to realize what we were all seeing until halfway through the season.
