Chiefs May Rest Their Starters on Sunday

The San Diego Chargers need so many things to go right in order to make the playoffs. We had things go in the right direction last weekend and we need so many good things to go in our direction on Sunday. We could be getting some loving from the Chiefs in our matchup. Andy Reid is thinking about giving his starters a break on Sunday, via Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, so that they can get a little extra rest before their playoff game.

I would love for the Chiefs to sit Jamaal Charles for the game. Let him get a rest! You wouldn’t want him to get hurt in a useless game!

Can you send Jamaal Charles over to the New York Jets so that they can win against the Miami Dolphins. Send over some players over to Cincinnati while you are at it. WE NEED SO MANY THINGS TO GO RIGHT!!!!!!

Al the Chargers have to do is take care of business against whoever is Infront of them. All else will fall into place. The right direction is towards as many wins possible. The goal stays the same. SUPERBOWL aspersions for this year or the next. Bolts are now on track. BOLT UP!

It’s starting to look like there is some weight about beating the eagles?

Could we get lucky again and find the Ravens and Dolphins on the losing side next week? Possibly? But, we have to win first. Hopefully we bring our A-Game against the Chiefs. We seem to play better against better teams. Playoffs or not, I have seen improvement from this team. They are learning to win. I like what I see.

Both the Dolphins & Ravens have QB’s that are playing with knee injuries. Flacco looked awful, and his knee buckled against the Pats… now he has to face a nasty Cincinnati defense on the road. Also, I wasn’t holding my breath for Miami to lose out… but, after seeing them put up a goose-egg against the Bills, I am a little more confident that the Jets can play spoiler. Geno Smith is coming off of his best game of the year… Tannehill is coming off of the worst game of his career, and got injured… and it’s a division game that the Jets want to win for Rex, whether he stays or goes… WIN IT FOR COACH BOYS!!!!!

      • Nick in PB

That’s true Peter. I just saw where Tanyhill got sacked 7 times. That’s gotta make him think a lot and be a little bit gun shy if he’s even in the game.

        • Peter Thompson

I bet he is… actually, he has been getting sacked like that all year, so it’s nothing new.. hahaha. I saw the play when he went down, and a D-Lineman fell right on his knee. He limped off the field pretty bad. He came back into the game after Moore immediately threw a pick, but he went three & out, so it was hard to tell how bad it was, because he got rid of the ball pretty quick. I didn’t see any injury status when I looked online yesterday, but Tannehill did say his knee felt fine… but, RG3 said that last year too = /

      • Stefanie Smith

I think Flacco has an ACL or MCL or one of those cl sprains. He is wearing a brace like RG3. Seriously, I think he is on the verge of a tear so the Ravens have problems. It is not going away any time soon. As to Tannehill, I haven’t read much on his injury, but the Jets will beat him up out of pride and trying to save the coach’s job. So yeah, I think we have a chance here.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

We have a good shot at this, I know we need a couple teams to lose but Miami and Baltimore suck enough for them both to fall apart, both starting QB’s have knee issues so that’s a good thing and Big Santa Any Reid throwing us a bone and resting his starters? That just sounds like a recipe for us going to the playoffs. We can handle Brady Quinn any day of the week lol

  • Peter Thompson

If the Chargers, Ravens, and Dolphins lose this weekend, and the Steelers win.. are they in? What is their playoff scenario? I keep seeing them hanging around there at the bottom of the hunt.

    • Ernie Padaon

      That’s the scenario

    Here’s how I see it.
The Ravens will lose to the Bengals. Here’s why…
The Bengals are 7-0 at home, and yes, they do have something to play for. They are still in the hunt for the #2 seed in the AFC. They will not rest their starters and will go 8-0 at home. Also, Joe Flacco has a knee brace and he really struggled to have mobility in the pocket and when throwing vs. the Patriots. I expect the Bengals to take down the Ravens.

The Miami Dolphins will host the New York Jets.
Now this one, is the key game. This decides the Chargers’s fate. The Jets lost to the Dolphins 23-3 at New York. So they will probably get hammered at Miami right? Not so fast. The Dolphins REALLY struggled vs. the Bills, to go along with that, Ryan Tannehill injured his right knee. ESPN says that it is very sore right now. Most likely he will start the game, but I expect Tannehill to struggle due to the Jets front seven, arguably one of the best in the game vs. the O-Line of Miami arguably on the worst. Along with that, Geno Smith played very well against a very good Browns defense. Rex Ryan might get fired, but he will not leave without a victory. I expect the Jets to play spoiler in Miami and give the San Diego Chargers an opportunity to clinch the AFC wildcard.

The Chargers will host the Kansas City Chiefs
The Chargers played OK vs. the Raiders. But come on, it’s a rivalry, no one said it was easy. The Chargers now host the Chiefs who will most likely rest their starters. Why? Well, for one thing, they have nothing to play for, they will probably want their RB Jamaal Charles, QB Alex Smith, and their OLB to rest for the Wild card game. They are pretty much gift wrapping a Christmas Miracle victory to the Chargers.

Now, I do believe that all is possible. I believe that the Ravens will lose and that the Jets will play spoiler. On top of that, I believe the Chargers will be able to clinch the 6th seed in the AFC and create some havoc in the playoffs.

    Merry Christmas!
