If there was ever a must-win game, this is it.  I know I said that about the Bengals game too, but we really could all but be eliminated tonight if we lose and the Ravens or Dolphins win on Sunday.  Here are some players that need to step up if we are going to have any chance against the Broncos tonight:

Manti Te’o

Te’o has been improving over the course of the season.  His pass coverage has been getting better but he still has problems shedding blockers to make a tackle.  We all know the Broncos can pass but they also have a tendency to run it down your throat to kill the clock.  Te’o and Butler need to step up in the middle and limit Moreno and Ball.  I’m not saying stack the box and force them to pass (we all know that’s always dangerous with Manning) but we need to stop the run because if they get both phases going they’re almost unstoppable.

Is anyone starting Ryan Mathews on their fantasy team this week?

    • Gunnar Martin

I would if I had him. He’s on fire. Doesn’t matter that we’ll be throwing more than usual tonight, he’ll get his touches against a relatively weak run defense. We only win when the running game is working.

Great read Dave! I probably sound like a broken record here.. but Ryan Mathews. Controlling the clock, and having long sustained drives will be the key. Keep that high-powered offense, and our not-so-high powered defense off of the field. The o-line needs to keep Philip from getting sacked 4 times, like the last game, and open up the running lanes. No penalties either!!!! GO BOLTS!!!!!
