Keenan Allen Holds the Chargers Record for Receptions By A Rookie

Keenan Allen set a Chargers record on Sunday by making his 60th completion of the season. That is the most by any rookie Chargers player ever. Ladainian Tomlinson previously held the record with 59 receptions in his rookie season. That speaks volumes about Tomlinson’s skills also, since he was a running back holding the Chargers record for receptions as a rookie.

Allen has been incredible and he still has so much more potential. This is still just his rookie season. Just wait to see how this kid flourishes in the future. He has so much more in store for him down the road as he gets even more seasoned. What an amazing selection for the San Diego Chargers. Just happy that the rest of the league passed on him and dropped him in our laps. Also glad that we didn’t make the same mistake as everyone else.

How many more records can Allen knock out in his career with the Chargers. Hoping that he can be rocking that blue and gold for a long, long time.

When he came trotting back out onto the Charger’s sideline, Dave & I were right there at field level behind our bench… everyone went insane! Then he goes right back in, and scores again. We thought he broke his collarbone, and was done for the season, after we saw him grabbing his shoulder that way. What a bad ass! He has my vote.

Rookie Of the Year. Hands Down. I swear Peter i was right there with you. I saw our hopes for the rest of the season leave right along with him. When Phillip went down, i was ready to go outside and burn all my Charger gear right there on the lawn.

Reactive much? Hahaha… Yes, he is the ROY, for sure. There was kind of an “Uh-Oh” feeling in the stadium… But, what really impressed me was how the fans reacted to the situation. Keenan was holding his shoulder, and looking down at the turf.. but, then the fans started giving him a standing ovation, and yelling “Thank You Keenan!!!!” at him. You could tell that he kind of looked up as if he was thinking “Wow… these guys really like me”. Then he gave it the thumbs up. I think that gave him the motivation he needed to get in that locker room….. take the painkiller shot…. and get right back out there. Such toughness. At last, we have found our #1 man ; )

            Agreed.

            Ditto.

Defiantely. The Bolt Beat tailgate is a great idea and if we plan far enough in advance we can really grow the community of Chargers with it. Sponsor ships, giveaways, guest interviews with local beat reporters, former players, live podcasts from the Q, sky’s the limit.
As of right now, we all know Chargergirl Cindi, is our “Sugar mama’”.

allen is putting together a historic rookie campaign and should be a shoe in for ROY.

top 5 ALL time rookie WR seasons in NFL history since the merger:

    1) randy moss: 69 | 1,313 | 17TD

    2) anquan boldin: 101 | 1,377 | 8TD

    3) john jefferson: 56 | 1,001 | 13TD

    4) bob hayes: 46 | 1,003 | 12TD

    5) ahem, cris collinsworth (hate that guy): 67 | 1,009 | 8TD

our boy K13 is on pace for 86 | 1,263 | 7TD… where does that leave him? ROthemothertruckingY!

I’m a loyal fan, but I must say that I hope the Spanos don’t sell him off like many other well recruited that have come and gone…
