Philip Rivers nominated for FedEx Air Player of the Week

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers has been nominated for FedEx Air Player of the Week for his performance on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. He put up 41 points on that Chiefs defense. A defense that many believed to be one of the best in the league. It didn’t seem like a problem for Philip.

In the win, Philip completed 27 passes for 392 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also threw that perfect pass over the defender into Seyi Ajirotutu’s hands for the winning score.

It seems that every game that we win this season, we need someone to have a ridiculous performance. D.J. Fluker and Keenan Allen have won awards in prior wins. Philip Rivers has won this award earlier this season. We just need super human performances from our stars in order to get some wins.

Now, can we get an award from someone on the defensive side of the football?

Philip is going up against Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tom Brady this week in the vote. Vote here for Philip.

    5-6 CHARGERS

    UP 1

You can hold Seyi Ajirotutu, but you can’t stop him. You just can’t stop him. Been saying it for weeks: This is your No. 6 seed in the AFC.

He should win it because he played great the entire game but Brady had a hell’ve half game also. I thought Bradys passing in that freezing wind was something special.

  • Peter Thompson

He also made #1 on Prime Time’s player of the week, and a couple different “performer of the week” pieces on NFL Gameday Final last night. And, apparently Tutu is becoming a “household name”. Ironically, I don’t think one of them pronounced it correctly during the show.. hahaha.

  • Kenny Redman

I thought Rivers has won this twice this season.

    • Ernie Padaon

      i think he did too.
