Chargers D.J. Fluker Injury Status

The latest reports on rookie tackle D.J. Fluker have been good. He went down at the end of the game with a knee injury, but after the game reports were that he would be OK. Going into Monday, the reports still say that he will be OK. Definitely some good news for the Chargers offense.

The Chargers already are without their starting left tackle and the team already has struggled through a ton of different injuries. Fluker has moved from right tackle over to left tackle and has done a decent job on the left side.

He has been a huge addition to the offensive line and will be needed down the stretch. If he has to sit for any stretch of time, the Chargers would have to rely on Kenny Wiggins or newly signed Willie Smith to play on the left side.

That’s great. Any updates on the King?

    • Joel Ayala

man were going need King for these last games. all hands on deck. even Taylor.. He needs to play some.

      • Adam

YES!!! Why isn’t Brandon Taylor playing? He needs time!

        • arnie

True story, it’s the same reason Tutu took so long to get playing time. Depth chart, everyone earns their spot. Tutu was Begging McCoy to get back in the game. he was told “No you done, you’ll get more reps next week”. It appears they have a set amount of plays a player will get, according to the game plan. If they had stuck to it guess who would not have gotten the game winning TD catch?

          • Gunnar Martin

Well that was during preseason, so a little different scenario, but I get what you’re saying. Really sucks that they are so stubborn sometimes. The same thing happened with Green until his spectacular play has pretty much forced them to put him on the field. I just hope we get to see a glimpse of Taylor sometime before our season is over.

          • arnie

No it was speaking in the regular season on Taylor. He’s been held back because everyone is healthy in front of him and not playing bad enough for the team to activate him.

          • Joel Ayala

I’m thinking TuTu is about to take some of VB reps this week. I’d be shocked if we don’t see more of Tu vs Bengals.

Funny, how bout that 11th pick now? Tough, durable an flexible. Now imagine ten more years of this guy getting better.
Bite me Mike Mayok. Bite me Mel Kiper.

    • Mark G

Hey Arnie – Is there any way to find out how M80 is doing? Does he have permanent neck/spine damage? I would just like to hear how he is doing. Thanks. Bolt Up!

    • kris

Right?!?! Mike Mayok is consistently wrong on draft pick grades and evaluation. Fluker is a beast!

    • jamfed

Bzzzzt! WRONG! Fluker was a first round graded talent by both Mayok and Kiper. Plus, after Fisher, Joeckle, Lane, Cooper & Warmack were drafted, Mayok and Kiper both knew Fluker would be selected by San Diego and they liked the pick. It was most Chargers fans that didn’t like the pick.

      • arnie

BZZZT! NO SIR! Then they proceeded to criticize his ability to play RT, and suggested he would better suited inside at Guard. This criticism continued right up to the first game of the season.

  • Nick in PB

Did anybody see Troutman annihilate that guy that tried to jump over him? We may have another “beast” on the O Line!

    • Gunnar Martin

If nothing else, we have a solid backup for the foreseeable future there. Something we really need, with the way our O-line always seems to get banged up. Could grow into a good starter somewhere down the road.

    • Cgoodness13

I’ve been pushing for the guy since day 1, his main problem was technique and burst, and since we have a BA line coach he has improved drastically.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Great news, if were making a playoff push, he has to be out there for Rivers to have a chance.

  • Mark G

Gotta hand it to the new front office and coaches. They said it wasn’t our QB but front line and they would fix it. To do that in one off-season is very commendable. SOOO glad DJ is a Charger! Very proud of this kid!

  • Mark G

Our other rookie sure looked good Sunday – Te’o stepped up strong! He still has much to learn but glad he is a Charger as well.

  • Jordan Denning

How about Clary stepping it up at RT now the Fluker moved over? Dude has been keeping PR standing and making holes for the backs!

  • Bill Nichols

We need you big guy. Best damn pick in a long ass time. Rest up, and keep doing what you do. Fluker = Charger for life! Bolt Up!!
