Brandon Taylor Might Get His Shot On Sunday

Brandon Taylor has been sitting on the sideline for the whole season. He might get his first opportunity for some playing time this weekend against the Miami Dolphins. Jahleel Addae hurt his ankle during practice and was listed as questionable on the injury report, if he needs to take a day to rest, then it would be Brandon Taylor’s first opportunity to play some football this season.

Taylor has been listed on the inactive roster all season long, sitting last on the depth chart behind Marcus Gilchrist and Jahleel Addae. The Chargers have had a ton of issues this season with their secondary. They have been burned by receivers this season and a few fans would love to see Taylor get his chance. He has been healthy. He has been getting reps in practice, he just is stuck behind a couple of other young guys. Gilchrist and Addae are young players in the secondary, so they need to be groomed and they need to learn from their mistakes during the year.

I still would love to see Brandon Taylor get his opportunity to learn on the job. The team spent a high draft pick on him and he had some potential going into last season. He just was behind the learning curve because of his injuries, but he seems to be healthy now. He has been at practice every day and is learning the playbook. Now he just needs a chance to play.

Why dont they move Marcus Gilchrist Back to corner for Derek Cox? Marcus was a pretty good corner when he played it the past few years and could maybe improve the secondary. I also believe Jahleel Addae and Brandon Taylor deserve to get more playing time, and one of them would start at strong safety.

Marcus was one of the worst nickels in the league. I have no idea what you are talking about.

He’d still probably be better than Cox. Especially now that he’s got a few years of experience

Love you Gunnar, but Gilchrist was not good when given an opportunity to play on the outside. However, I think he is equal to (or greater than) Marshall & Patrick… I think? At this point, he can’t be much worse… but, that’s what I thought about Wright & Cox replacing Jammer & Cason. Clearly, I was wrong.

It’s worth a try. The secondary has been a train wreck. Not that they weren’t before this season, too.

he was their in coverage but couldn’t make a play on the ball. reminds you of a young jammer.

I think Jammer was better than Gilly when young.

At this point, I am concerned. The time to put Taylor out there was in Washington. I was blown away when they didn’t, and HATED Pagano’s statements about “there are guys ahead of him”. Putting Gilchrist at safety was supposed to be a quick fix, until Taylor got plenty of time to heal… unless Gilly just balled out.. which he clearly hasn’t. Three weeks later, he MIGHT get his chance? Because an undrafted rookie f**king free agent got hurt? And it’s a must win game? He was a 3rd round pick off a good LSU team, for Christ’s sake! A team leader, actually… What is Pagano thinking?!!!

Get him out there, and see what he can do. But, he is going to be rusty, make mistakes, and Tannehill will probably pick on him… IF Pagano even puts him out there for any substantial amount of time. This should have been done 3 weeks ago, because it might have been giving this secondary the boost it needs right now, with Butler also coming back healthy. We could have had Gilly back at nickel right now too.. which ain’t great… but would at least be an option.

Brandon Taylor will do great with his opportunity. Just hope he stays healthy through his debut. Weddle will benefit from a good Strong Saftey.

So much for that. .. Taylor on inactive list… along with Dunlap, Geathers, Remmers, Sorenson, Hawkins, and Robinson.
