Larry English Placed On Season Ending IR

The San Diego Chargers linebacking unit just got a little worse today. The Chargers had to place LB Larry English on season ending IR today. English had been solid at outside lineabacker for the Chargers, but his season has come to an early end again.

The Chargers have to hope that Jarret Johnson will be able to stay healthy for the rest of the season or they will have to start Tourek Williams and Thomas Keiser off of the edge. I like those guys, but they shouldn’t be starting linebackers. The Chargers added former Denver Broncos LB Adrian Robinson onto the roster to help with the depth on the roster.

If the Chargers are able to jump into this playoff race in the next couple of weeks, they could get the help of Melvin Ingram back on the roster. He is on the PUP list right now and is eligible to come back, but he still is rehabbing from his injury. He needs some time to get in football shape or he will just get hurt all over again.

The Chargers are hurting bad for some depth at linebacker. I wonder what Sam Montgomery is doing right now?

Dang, Big Larry just can’t get a full season together. This was his shot right here right now, instead it will be a couple other guys. I’d draft a OLB in the later rounds as his replacement as a backup and let Larry sail off into the sunset.

I can’t see us hanging onto him either

        Tourek is nice

Plus Tourek Williams will have a whole offseason with the team. He should be a lot better

How did it get worse? Tourek or T-Will came in and played well? In fact the defensive pass rush got better when Larry went out. They brought these guys in, let em’ play. You can’t stay healthy? Next Man Up!

And lets call that a career. Dude is done. Injury prone and accomplishes very little on the field.

Haha. Saw the same thing. He is supposed to be a pass rush specialist too

  • 619chargers4life

This don’t seem like bad luck , this seems like a player that once did a boat load of steroids and now his body is breaking down left and right.

  • Nick in PB

I didn’t even notice he went out of the game? Says it all right there.
