Tomorrow the Chargers head out East again to face RGIII and the Redskins.  The BYE week came at a great time, so the guys have had a fortnight to rest and recover; hopefully that makes a big difference.  One thing it does mean is that the guy up top, Jarret Johnson, will be back in the starting lineup and that’s where we’ll start in the players to watch:

Jarret Johnson

JJ has been out of the lineup for the last couple of games with a hamstring injury.  He’s been an absolute beast on the outside and definitely one of the biggest playmakers on the defense.  Our D has stepped up in the last couple of games, but having a player like Johnson back can only be a good thing.  Let’s hope he gets back in there and stuffs Griffin and Morris all day long.

I’m looking for Manti’ to have a good game, hopefully his best statistically ever (what is that, 3 games thus far?). You mentioned Andrew as being the one to spy on RG3, is he faster than T’eo? He may be faster, but I am pretty sure football IQ wise Manti’ has the edge. Either way, we need P17 to do his thing, and control the ball, with long methodical D producing drives. Hate that you even mentioned trap game, damn it, don’t say that… :) Bolt Up! let’s go 5-3 today baby.

I want to see a healthy O Line for the rest of the season. Is Rinehart back? I don’t mind Gatch in the middle. Seems he knows his assignments and has filled in well. I’s like to see how Te’o comes out in this game after the bye week, fully healthy and with some experience under his belt.

    • Gunnar Martin

Yes Rinehart is healthy again. He should start today. That is going to be a huge boost in the run game.

    • Gunnar Martin

Actually scratch that, just saw that he is one of the inactives (even after practicing most of the week. LAME). Darn it. At least Troutman has been holding up pretty well as his backup.

I’m just as nervous as you are Dave. It totally seems like a trap game. But I think that’s something that McCoy will change from years past. He’s not gonna let our guys get complacent, and we’re gonna come out firing every week. At least I hope that’s how it’s gonna be. We CANNOT lose this game.

Monday Morning Quarter Backing: My Bolts are now 4-4, they had every opportunity to be at 5-3 before taking on that scoring machine (Peyton Manning) the Broncos this next Sunday. If my Chargers cannot score from inches away with 3 to 4 tries they do not belong in the playoffs. Ken Wisenhut as the OC should be whipped. I hope that one of the Bolts 2014 draft choices will be a power Full Back who can punch it over when needed. There are only eight more chances to get it right.
