Beware of Brandon Meriweather

Beware of Brandon Meriweather! Beware of the Washington Redskins safety. He has been in the news the last couple of weeks for things you don’t want to be on the news for. He was suspended by the league for head hunting. He has been fined too often and the league decided to elevate their penalties on him and suspended him for a couple of games. He was supposed to be missing from our game, but the league reduces his penalty after he appealed the suspension.

He now will be back and he went onto the radio this week and he was asked about the suspension and he responded that he needs to go low now. He will just have to tear ACLs now! Seriously… those were the words he chose to speak!

We already have had enough injuries to our wide receivers. We don’t need a dirty player like Brandon Meriweather targeting knees on the field. If Meriweather goes low and takes out someones knee, then he just needs to get kicked out of the league. He is calling his shot and his first game back is against us.

If he hits someone in the head, he needs to get kicked out of the game. If someone blows out a knee because of him, he needs to be thrown out of the league. We don’t need that kind of crap in the league.

I agree completely. While I would never condone hurting a player…I wouldn’t be terribly hurt if he comes on a blitz early in the game and DJ does his best Undertaker impersonation on him, knocking him out.

  • Stefanie Smith

Maybe he will be more low key because everyone is watching him. Let’s hope.

  • Moke Braddah Boltz

Isn’t he suspended for this game?

    • Moke Braddah Boltz

Nvm – they reduced his suspension from 2 to 1 game.

I am going to laugh if he head dives at one of our guys and misses. We have some of the more illusive receivers I have seen so it could happen. This guy is a menace and if he steps up to the box for a blitz I hope Fluker introduces himself.

  • Peter Thompson

Eh… I think his statements were taken out of context. I don’t think he meant he is trying to. He was just making a point that when they tell you not to go high, that you are forced to go low. This will cause more ACL injuries. They are kinda screwed either way. The concussion stuff is an issue, but for all the people on here who constantly rant about how Goodell is ruining the league, and making it soft… this is the prime example, and player that you are talking about. We shouldn’t make a big deal, just because he is playing us this week. He was actually making those statements in response to Brandon Marshall being a cry-baby. In fact, what he said about Marshall being a “girlfriend beater” made me laugh. It’s a physical game.. let em’ play. Pick your poison.. concussions, or ACL’s? What’s it gonna be? Every defensive player in the league would like clarification.

We need Brown and Green to run a pick play on him and take him the fuck out. Seriously, this guy is just looking to get kicked out of the league. So many players seem to play by the new rules without incident, what’s his issue? I would guess his issue is the fact that he is a thug, check that, he is a wanna be thug, punk. Screw it, let’s throw at him repeatedly, and here’s to hoping Fluke can get his massive paws on his little punk ass. Bolt Up!!

I wish Hines Ward was on the team for this game.

Guy might think twice about his recent comments when he see’s Fluker (up close and personal.) That Raider’s LB body slam was COOL………………..

  • Aaron Johnson

Those comments were made out of frustration and he hasnt been the first this year to make that statement. He is correct in that the league rather you hit someone in the knee than up high and risk a head hit. The ACL comments have been made this year due to the amount of ACL tears. Its the nature of the league when they are telling guys to go low. Some of Merriweathers hits were clean but the ball carrier lowered their head which instigated the contact, flag thrown on BM. He should have been fined and suspended based on the blatant hits to the head but not all of them were even flag worthy IMO.

Either way, I would watch out for him too since he seems to feel the league has done him wrong. He seems to feel he has something to prove and hitting people big is normally what he does.

i disagree on this point defenders should know they can just make a tackle in the chest / midsection no need to head or acl hunt offensive players.
