Philip Rivers Selected For 1/2 Season Award by NFL Spin Zone

As some of you may know, I also write for our FanSided sister station NFL Spin Zone. The other editor of the site, Joe Soriano has selected his league MVP and Offensive Player of the 1/2 Year awards today and the AFC West got a lot of love in the post.

The offensive player of the first half of the season went over to the Donkeys quarterback. The league MVP award went over to our boy Philip Rivers. Rivers has been playing out of his mind to start out the season. If he was not on the roster, we would be struggling this year.

The new system that Ken Whisenhunt and Mike McCoy have prepared for him have been huge for him. The players around him have stepped up and has made him look better because of it. The offensive line is playing better. The receivers are playing better. Even the running game has been better.

Check out the analysis from Joe Soriano on the post and give him some love. Philip is starting to get that respect back around the league.

I’d like to see Fluker be sent on a “Kill the Meriweather” mission in which he can either get down the field on a run and aim for Meriweather and truck through him like a Cadillac hitting a magazine rack or wait for him to blitz and choke slam the dude (with all the vets picking up the tab for the fine). Somebody has to teach him…….why not the biggest dude on the field?

Also, I watch Tennessee game on Saturday, Their LT Richardson is Fluker 2.0 but the LT version. He’s top 15 right now but if he falls somehow having Richardson and Fluker would be the pairing of a lifetime. I tried to just focus on his for the 2nd half, he’s Huge and really really good.

If we do look to see Fluker nail meriweather, run an end around and pull those safeties in… I want clary to lower the booooom.

I hear his contract is up this season. In Tt we trust, because again we played our way out of a starting lt in the draft again. I think we keep Harris as our line utility knife and Dunlap as our swing tackle. I just like Harris’s improvement along with his youth. Feel like he might develop like kaiser has in time. I’d let clary go to make room seems like of all the linemen he’s peaked and struggles to be decent

Yea I don’t whos contract is up…But Antonio Richardson of the University of Tennessee is a beast ..might be there for the later picks in the draft next years…assuming Chargers do better than 7-9

Nah, there’s a couple FA LT’s and 5-6 possible first rounders. We should be good if we go that direction.

Hate to correct you EP but he actually chose Phil as the MVP and Peyton as the Offensive Player. Not that it really matters, they’re pretty much the same thing. Just awesome that our man is finally getting the deserved respect :)
