Thomas Keiser Has Helped Spark Chargers Defense

San Diego Chargers LB Thomas Keiser has been a huge lift to the defense. Keiser is benefiting from better play from the defensive line as well, but he is getting to the quarterback and making plays in the backfield. He comes off of the edge quick and with attitude. He gets to the quarterback and he wants to rip his head off and then he celebrates like a wrestler that is about to jump off the top ropes and drop an elbow like Macho Man.

He played well in the preseason and was a tough player to cut in camp, but nobody picked him up and we kept him on the practice squad. Now he is on the roster and is making plays. He is putting pressure on the quarterback and forcing team’s to take notice of him. His effort coming from the blind side has helped this team develop a pass rush that was AWOL.

It is strange that the team is getting more pressure on quarterbacks with Dwight Freeney out, but they have figured out a way to get it done. Keiser has been part of the answer. Hope he can continue his strong play. Keep hitting.

Keiser plays hungry and doesn’t let off the gas peddle even when he gets beat down. He just kept working. I love these high motor guys. He reminds me of a mix of Jarret Johnson and a young Cushing…

this is why I hate the fact of how some players are only like this when they are playing for a big $ contract, then when they get that deal, their performance drops off…
I’m not saying some don’t deserve the $, just play like this guy does consistently…

He’s White Lightning, I think him and JJ will pair up nicely at some point and really bring some serious heat. Some people were saying it was because of the talent level of the Jags o-line but oh well every team has a backup playing somewhere, he made the most of his opportunity and it’s paying off. I wouldn’t doubt it if he leads the team in sacks by the end of year.

That last play that he jumped up like JJ Watt and Henne tossed the ball away was so sweet, If he didn’t toss the ball away Keiser would have landed on the back of Henne’s neck and would have got another sack and most likely a FF.

He’s really doing great. Hope the other guys can all step up the way he has. Big reason why our defense hasn’t given up a TD in like 11 quarters. Keep it up.

This team will get better on defense, if Pagano “moves him around”. I’m not going to call him Lights Out 2.0, but i won’t rain on a young player performance that stepped up, even it was against the jags. Speaking of which, how’s the #1 Draft pick working out….? Anyways when Pagano stops being stubborn and play real 3-4, the entire front 7 has the potential to dominate, with keiser leading the way.

His name alone sounds massive… I’d still like to see us get a better CB

  • Sergio Quintero

I checked on him, he put up numbers in his last year in Stanford (9.5 sacks in 2010), he ran in the low 4.8 range and scouts forgot about him. Pass rush is more about the burst & moves for those 2 seconds not a 40 yard dash, the guy clearly flashes when he’s on the field, so keep playing him.

dont get too excited here, Keiser was going up against the 3rd string LT since Joeckel is on IR and Monroe was traded

    Herr Keiser Rox

Maybe they all figured Freeney “got this”, and I am talking coaches too. A little fire under the right peoples asses, they react differently, more urgency. Love seeing any move, or keep, Telesco, had a part of, succeed . This D is getting better and better. Time to start teeing off, can’t wait to see them do it on Mannings ass.
