Melvin Ingram Is Eligible To Get Back Onto The Practice Field

San Diego Chargers LB Melvin Ingram is eligible to step onto the practice field now after waiting for 6 weeks. He still is not ready to get out there, but he has been putting in work. It has been less than 5 months since he tore up his left knee in practice, but he is making strides. He wants to get back on the field. He expects to get back on the field this season.

The Chargers could use a boost at outside linebacker. They have already lose Dwight Freeney for the season and on Monday the Chargers had to start Larry English and 5th round draft pick Tourek Williams on the outside. Jarret Johnson is recovering from a hamstring injury and will get back out there, but he could use some help.

Melvin Ingram was selected by the Chargers in the first round last season to help the defensive pass rush. He can get pressure on quarterbacks and would be a huge addition to the defense. We still have no timetable on his return and we are unsure how he will look if he returns this season.

I can’t wait to see Melvin back on the field, but I want to make sure that he is ready to go all out when he gets back to the field.

i want him to take his time, though our defense most def needs him to come back, his health is more important (im not saying pull a gaither im saying he should be 99.99% sure hes healthy enough to come back)

Can’t wait to see him out there again, even if it’s after week 10 there’s no rush.

Melvin the Machine will be a welcomed sight on the field again. Have to agree with Cgoodness13, make sure he is 100%.

They really need him, but my guess he’s back for the first week of december, at best after the bye, so I think we should all set our expectations for his return for much later in the season.
