Raiders vs Chiefs Open Thread

With the San Diego Chargers playing on Monday Night, we have to endure through the whole weekend without seeing our boys on the field. The game that most of us will be interested in is the Oakland Raiders vs the Kansas City Chiefs.

Do you ever admit that you are rooting for the Raiders in a game? SIGH. That is what are season has come to at this time.

We need to control our own destiny, but we couldn’t even beat the Raiders on Sunday. At least we will be at home this time and playing at a normal hour.

Anyway, this will be the open thread for the Raiders and Chiefs. Can they both just lose today?

If you are new to open threads, just head to the bottom of the comments section and share your thoughts on the game and let us also know how much you hate both teams. We will be rooting that they both lose somehow.

i hope they both just rip each others heads off

You know what? I am rooting for the Chargers in this one. Even though it affects a division tiebreaker, and record for us against the Raiders.. they need to win. The Chiefs are too far out in front, and need to be one of those “WERE undefeated, but tanked” teams. Alex Smith is just not good, and exposing that in Arrowhead against the Raiders will bring this team crashing down, If a loss were to happen.

Despite the Raiders having a better QB situation. .. I think the biggest improvement has been their lack of penalties at key moments. They just scored a TD, and it didn’t get called back for a dumb penalty. That was almost expected in previous years. They are being coached far better too.

    • Derek

Agreed I think this game is where Allen makes a case that he is staying hc

      • Peter Thompson

Lol. . Just when I say they didn’t take dumb penalties in key moments, right Derek? Doh….

    • Peter Thompson

I take everything I said about penalties back. Same old Raiders. Penalty after penalty.

  • Derek

I’m calling this one game raiders. Playmaker beats game manager. Smith was only good when the TE was playing a lb. now that he got his starting and back up killed. Their only hope is running Jamal Charles into the ground. Long story short they are cruising to a borring first round knock out to the broncos. Pryor is getting the most out of his improvisional plays but one of these plays he will get hurt playing that way.

God…. Is it bad to like the raiders offense?that speed is so killer D: ………

  • Derek

Alex just lost his lt game over

  • Peter Thompson

Penalties are losing this game for the Raiders. Where were all these dumb penalties last week? SMH.

  • Peter Thompson

And that’s game. Why I was expecting the Raiders to do something that would help the Chargers, I didn’t know. I should have my head examined. Having said that. .. the Chief’s offense, and QB, ARE total garbage. They will basically be eating up a playoff spot, if they make it. They will never win anything. Alex Smith doesn’t turn it over, but he doesn’t do anything else either. They might as well just have Charles run it all day, and wait for their defense to score.

Totally agree. and still to this day they haven’t played anyone. and if TPryor doesn’t have happy feet every play they should or couldve won. Soon tho KFC gets Den then Us the Donks again. that’s gonna be their true test.

Both Denver and KC have really not had a tough schedule. I was wondering why so many of Denver games are at home. Denver has only traveled for 2 games so far.

And both Denver and KC are so proud of their win against the Jags.

    • Stefanie Smith

I thought the same thing, Pete. I was actually sort of cheering the Raiders to win. Terrell didn’t look good, nor did anyone else on the team. They sure didn’t look like that or play like that when the Chargers played them. Or..

      • Peter Thompson

I think the difference was definitely KC’s D is better, and were constantly keeping the Raiders in their own end. Then, they were able to get more pressure than we could, and ultimately won the turnover game.

Perhaps the biggest reason (IMO) was that KC set out to beat a “loudest outdoor stadium” record, and succeeded. There were 3 delay of game penalties that I saw, and a bunch of other penalties. It got Pryor & the Raiders frazzled at the end.

Wonder why we didn’t think of something cool like that… oh, that’s right.. because we could never do it.. lol. Half the stadium is full of the opposing team’s fans. That’s why I wasn’t too harsh on Gates. The Chiefs have been awful for years, and went 2-14 last season… yet they were still able to fill their stadium this season, and break Guiness World records. Their fans are far more supportive, and show up regardless of the win loss column, or economy. In this case, it helped them win a very close game, when their team was struggling.

  • Derek

    Uhh guess mot

  • rickochey

I was at this game. It was painful to watch to sorry ass offenses trying to out do each other. KCs D looked good against no talent. Hence the word, no-talent; If Pryor gets some experience the Raiders should be ok. but nothing is special about the Raiders. oh and yes, The stadium IS LOUD!!!!! and tailgating blows away SDs tailgating.

    • Ernie Padaon

Did you get some BBQ while you were out there?

      • rickochey

I have had the the BBQ (jack Stack, Oklahoma Joes, Famous Daves) but is fact is Phils is just as good. I love the buffalo wings here.I have been here for the past year for school and can’t wait to move back to SD.
