Chargers LB Donald Butler Out For Friday Practice With Groin Injury

San Diego Chargers LB Donald Butler was on the sideline for practice on Friday. The Chargers already are thin at linebacker with Jarret Johnson on the sideline. Coach Mike McCoy says that Butler’s groin injury has flared up and had to take some time out. I would hate for the Chargers to be without Butler for the game. They have Manti Te’o back in the middle now, but it would be a struggle without Butler there with him. It already is a struggle with both on the field at the same time.

Butler has not had the best season this year, but he is better than any other option that we have on the roster. Some players need to step up and start making plays on defense. We have forced 2 turnovers on defense. Our one interception on defense has come from our defensive tackle. Something is wrong there. Butler forced one of those turnovers by forcing a fumble against the Dallas Cowboys. We need some other players to make some of those plays.

You aren’t alone. . On the last play of the Titans game, When Crezdon Butler got burnt for the TD.. I was like, “How the fuck did Donald Butler end up covering a back of the endzone route in the final play of the game? !!!!! He’s injured right”.

Yeah… forgot we signed that guy.

Can everyone STOP getting hurt? Jesus… they should have a conveyor belt that goes around the field, that takes them inside to the team doctors… just hobble off to the side, and hop on when you get hurt…. Sushii restaurant style… They could even have ice packs there, waiting for you…. maybe it could even take you through a tunnel so they can conduct X-Rays & an MRI as they lay there. It would just need the proper design. This sucks!

No matter what the year, it never ever ever ends…

  • Julien Bélair

i have to say …. you should not resign him… he can’t play more than 12 games. its a shame though

What I worry about most is who’s going to get injured this week? Seriously, with our salary cap issues, how do we even attempt to bring inn any more guys? It seems like when 1 or two come back, 3 or 4 go down. And some of it is happening on the practice field. If nothing else, we’ll have a very seasoned team going onto next year. TT will know what to keep and what to get rid of. There won’t be any questions on who can play and who can’t.
