D.J. Fluker Listed As Day-To-Day With Calf Injury

Any time a San Diego Chargers player is sitting on the sideline with an injury during practice, we never have a good sense on if he will be able to play on the weekend. We have gone through multiple scenarios with Mike McCoy as head coach and he will not give anything away for the opponent to take. It is a good strategy, but it sucks for us fans.

D.J. Fluker is on the sideline today with a calf injury and McCoy says that he is day-to-day. Who knows how long that means, but we do know he is on the sideline and he could be there for some time.

We will have to watch his progress throughout the week and see if he is able to get onto the field to get some reps. If he sits on the sideline for the whole week, then things are not looking good.

If Fluker has to sit this weekend, then we would have to use Mike Remmers or Nick Becton to start at right tackle or we may move Jeromey Clary over to right tackle and have someone else start at right guard for us. At least we have players on the roster that can play a few positions.

Great is he going to end up on IR also? Don’t trust McCoy when it comes to injuries!

    • Pels04

Knowing our luck its probably day-to-day with the calf injury and IR for an ankle injury……

  • Stefanie Smith

This is getting ridiculous. Whatever happened to their strength and conditioning to decrease the injuries? Come on, now.

    • Pels04

Seriously……this is on pace with Chao….or dare i say even worse?

  • tubbs45

For the love of all that holy…. what the shit is going on with our linemen. Injury snipers are on the loose, heal quickly big fella!

  • Stefanie Smith

I hope they are not having one of those “sick outs”–they’re angry about something and everyone calls in sick. It’s getting weird over there. Everyone is sitting out.

Sorry to type that, but doesn’t it get you guys concerned at the inordinate amount of injuries we are having?

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

He will be ok, at least they finally told us someone is day to day then headed to the IR, were not playing til Monday so he’s got 4 days to rest.

  • Stefanie Smith

It is coincidence, but it’s odd that King D comes back to practice and a mess sit out Wednesday.

  • Alex Pitrofsky

    Man this sucks

  • Stefanie Smith

Somebody should make a list of everyone who sat out today. I have it at 6. This doesn’t include the ones on IR already.

Hmmm could this mean that were tanking??? Gets you thinking doesnt it all of a sudden everyone and there mommas are getting hurt this many players at a time? I think were shooting for higher draft picks too be honest because now its getting ridiculous with all of these injuries!

Naw… players are just getting hurt. It’s football.

    • NativeSanDiegan

I’ve been thinking that for a while now. That would follow the Colts mo, except there is no Andrew Luck and Jaguars pretty much have the the top pick already. We could be after the top LT in the draft. Especially after being shut out the recent draft

I sure am hearing a lot of people bitching, doubting, and serious moaning. Believe me, I feel you, but, have chosen not to judge this year, simply because it’s too damn early to. This regime has been here for a very small amount of time, and have done so with handcuffs, ball and chain, block and tackle, whatever. So, with that said. Let’s hope we can get over all the injuries, and field a competitive team for the rest of the season, and maybe even squeak out a wild card spot………… (dodging the shit people are throwing at me now). I am sure there are no conspiracies, to keep our guys on the injured list, and we know we got rid of Chao, so, I bet they didn’t hire his eviler twin. TT seems to be doing all he can, and MM has shown us he has a good scheme. Pags needs to pack his shit, I agree, but still, not judging the regime this year. :) I just wanna win, and I am sure the team does too. Let’s pull this off Monday night …. Bolt Up!!

Thank God for Hardwick… he’s the beacon shining from the lighthouse.. from the center of the O-Line… while all the ships are crashing into the rocks.. or something like that anyway. lol.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot… Goooooo Tigers :) The Oakland A-holes need to go down, and hard. Come on Detroit!! Hey, it’s only fair, gotta hate on all that is Oakland….. Especially since my ass is still sore from Sunday / Monday. Bolt Up!!

  • Mz. Sarah

DJ will be fine. Yes a little sore and taped with about 3 rolls, but his toughness and beast mode mindset will get him through.
