Fantasy Football Hot Waiver Wire Pickup: Chargers WR Keenan Allen

For all the fantasy football buffs out there, the San Diego Chargers have a player on their roster that could be available in your league and should be picked up and placed onto your roster. Chargers WR Keenan Allen should be owned in your league and could be used in spot starts when some of your other receivers are on a BYE week.

Allen could have easily had 3 touchdowns this weekend against the Oakland Raiders. He has shown a great chemistry with Philip Rivers and has been picking up big yards in big chunks. He is getting more and more playing time as the weeks go by. He played in all 75 offensive snaps this weekend and is Philip’s number 1 target at receiver. He was constantly beating his defender and could be used in a ton of fantasy football leagues.

He is only going to get better and with the Chargers pass happy offense, he is going to get the ball thrown in his direction a ton of times. He had a few targets in the red zone and could see more since the Chargers have struggled to move the ball on the ground in that area.

He definitely should be owned in all leagues. I am just happy that I started picking him up last week.

Who you guys think its a better pick up,
    Allen or Vincent Brown?

      Personally I think Brown ….

    • Gunnar Martin

I know it’s probably not the answer you want, but it really just depends on the week. It’s just how it always seems to play out. San Diego is just inconsistent in practically every aspect of the game. Personally, I just refrain from all Charger players (except for Rivers and Gates this year, they’re consistent in fantasy). That way at least they aren’t letting me down in fantasy when they let me down for reals.

I think Allen… He would be better in red zone

I took a risk and drafted Allen in my Keeper League after seeing that his stats from NCAA were remarkably similar to that of A.J. Green at Georgia and Randy Moss at Marshall. I think he’ll work out like Vontaze Burfict (LB Bengals) and be a prize that was forgotten about because of slipping in the draft. He needed the coaching staff to give him a chance and I figured he’d get it with the incumbent WR situation. Nice article – hope he does well! I’d get to draft him next year in round 14 if I kept him.
