Chargers LT King Dunlap Status For Sunday

San Diego Chargers LT King Dunlap will not participate this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. Dunlap suffered a concussion last week against the Tennessee Titans and will take the week to rest and heal up. With Dunlap taking the day off, Mike Harris will get his second straight start. He started at right tackle last week and will start over at left tackle this time around.

The Chargers may be without a couple other linemen this weekend also. We will have to wait on the official status for Jeromey Clary and Chad Rinehart.

The Chargers are running low on tackles, so they signed Nick Becton off of the practice squad. He will provide the depth at tackle if any unfortunate circumstances arise. In order to make room for Becton, the Chargers released RB/KR Fozzy Whittaker.

Fozzy had potential, but seemed like he was a bit flustered by the spotlight.

Here’s hoping the O-Line can keep Rivers upright this weekend. If they can, I think we can beat the Girls.

Released fozzy….. Wow I don’t agree with that at all fozzy has potential..just needed a chance to play

  • Gunnar Martin

    Who’s gonna return kicks now?

    • blackroseMD1

      Keenan or Eddie.

  • Blue&gold_blood

    Why Foozy?????
    Man release Mathews ….

  • Joel Ayala

I find no problem with that move. what’s more important? A LT to protect our Qb or a KR that has fumbled already and Barely get outta the 20 yard line. my opinion. plus Keenen will return kicks this week. I bet Fozzy gets resigned afterwards too

  • Stefanie Smith

They better stop screwing around. I bet someone signs Fozzy. Watch. He will end up on the Broncos with half the old Chargers’ team. Or the Jets.

Strange deal –this whole concussion thing. Pryor on the Raiders got hit so hard, he was knocked out with a concussion and can’t remember a thing.. and he is back playing. On the other side, maybe concussions are a cumulative thing. Every concussion you get makes the next one worse and more difficult to recover?

    • John Alton

Concussions are unpredictable. You cannot judge how hard a player is hit from watching it on TV. It also depend on what part of the brain was effected by the hit, how much force and how quickly each player can recover from it. It looks like McCoy is not playing around with player safety and sitting them to be on the safe side. And yes, each successive concussion makes the next one worse. I know this from experience in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is not something to play around with.

Fozzy will be back as soon as King is better (next week), I hope Becton does well as the swing tackle. I’d have Phillips out there and R Brown.for as much pass protection as possible. Let’s hope Romo has one of his random big.INT games and gives us some extra shots on offense.

    • Tyreece Kaete Sr.

      Oh he will, he’s Romo

  • Daryl Peek

Man! I’m on the late train but I just saw Fozzy was released. I know the RM24 haters heads are exploding right now! *LOOKING*

  • Nick in PB

Will someone be able to grab Becton when he goes back to the practice squad? Also, I hope we get a chance to resign Fozzy.

  • arnie

WOW! Of the all the people to release, how about someone that wasn’t seen on the field making contributions. At least Fozzy was keeping the guys that Rivers needs to stay healthy, Royal/Allen, away form extra hits. I undeerstand the move, more important to keep PR upright, but wasn’t there anybody else on the roster that they could have let go?
