Manti Te’o, Donald Butler, Malcom Floyd Injury Updates

Manti Te’o is back out on the practice field for the second day in a row. He could test that foot out even more today.

Malcom Floyd did not join in on practice today. Floyd is out indefinitely.

Donald Butler  was limited in practice today and is expected to be back on the practice field tomorrow.

If Butler is not on the practice field tomorrow, we could see Reggie walker and Bront Bird out on the field at the same time. That would not be a pretty sight to see against Chris Johnson and the Tennesee Titans offense. We might as well bring Eric Weddle up in the box again if that were to happen.

Hopefully Brandon Taylor is able to get back on the field soon too. He hasn’t been listed on the injury report, but he has been inactive for the last couple of games. He could help in run support and allow Weddle to roam around in the secondary. We need to force some of those turnoevers.

I kinda doubt we would actually have Walker/Bird combo out there for reason’s we all know (1 is ok and 1 sucks) but I really think Butlers injury is minor. He said he would be out there Sunday so I will take him at his word. The tightness of a hamstring injury is a serious bitch, but if it is minor enough it could go away in a couple days. Would be cool if Manti can get out there Sunday only if we get a Big ass lead and are crushing the Titans souls. Then have him start full force with Butler against the Cowboys. Can’t wait to see them out there together.

Side note: Brandon Taylor is our secret weapon, no way he can come close to as bad a Gilchrist.

What’s with all the secrecy on the injuries?? Taylor was playing during the preaseason, so what gives? Did he have a setback? Are the Chargers trying to save these guys for later? I don’t get it…

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Ya really, they could at least address when Taylor will be game ready. I honestly think MM doesn’t like to tell anyone shit and we could see him starting out of no where as soon as he’s good to go.

      • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

I trust Coach whatever his reasons are. To me it’s sandbagging….SD’s D looks atrocious right now, and they barely squeaked by for the win this past Sunday. There’s plenty of games left, and if the coach thinks he can win with the players he has out there now, I am just going to have to sit back and enjoy the ride. Frustrating though….I don’t have many nails left to bite LOL…

      • Gunnar Martin

I think Taylor is just out because there aren’t enough spots on the active roster. Don’t think he is hurt at all…

But I would be very glad to know that it is because he is injured, which would mean that he doesn’t just suck

    • Alex Pitrofsky

I’m frustrated enough with all these injuries. What makes it worse is not knowing what’s happening!!!!!!!!!

  • Ioane

Walker and Bird on the field at the same time would make me cry. If this happens, expects a big day from CJ, he will make those who drafted him very happy.

There is also talk around Chargers park that Te’o won’t play until Dallas comes to town. If Te’o is able to practice fully today and Tomorrow, I hope MM gives him some reps against the Titans, I don’t want a rusted Te’o going up against the Cowboys high flying offense.

    • Joel Ayala

They had MM on 1360 on the power hour. he said Butler is good to go for Sunday. so that’s good news. the one that I’m worried about is Teo. they asked him. and he was like um um um I don’t know. Teos killing me!!! Lol.

Is it to late to get Demorrio Williams?

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

        nope

  • S.Bolt

    Ernie,
What is the status of Floyd ? Is he out for 2,4,6,8 weeks how many or your thaught.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

still unsure… i bet it will be a bit till he comes back

  • Michael

any news on fluker?’ how long will he be sidelined from his concusion?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

possibly a game… don’t know how bad it was

  • JoseSD

I know we all want them to sign Butler long term but it seems like he is injury prone, he missed his entire rookie year and the last 4 or 5 games last year, ending 2 out of 3 seasons on injured reserve isn’t good, especially if he wants to get paid like Cushing

    • qwert

Cushing just came off an ACL tear dumbass

      • JoseSD

I know that asshole.. Cushing however tore his ACL because of an illegal block in the back by Jets guard Matt Slauson, he was defensive rookie of the year and a playmaker and leader for the Texans defense. all of Butler’s injuries were not a result of contact with an opponent. Butler tore his Achilles in training camp and missed his rookie year, missed the last 4 games last season with a groin injury and his current injury is also a groin. He’s missed 20 out of 50 games in his career and isn’t established yet like Cushing is

  • C.Steele

Fluker a concussion in practice? Really? I guess it was one of their full contact days? We have had more players injured in practice this year then in a live game…Ugh! #GoBolts!

    • NativeSanDiegan

      That’s true
