D.J. Fluker Suffered Concussion In Practice Yesterday. Status In Question

San Diego Chargers RT D.J. Fluker suffered a concussion in practice yesterday. it was diagnosed after practice and he did not practice today. Fluker will have to pass concussion tests before he is able to join practice again and that would put his chances of missing the game this Sunday in jeopardy. If Fluker is unable to play, the Chargers would have to turn to Mike Harris at right tackle.

We should learn more about the status on Fluker tomorrow. We will see if he passes his tests and can get back onto the practice field. Otherwise, we will have to work with a patch up job at right tackle.

  • PakMaN

Atleast its against Titans and not someone competitive.

    • SDfanInMusicCity

Titans beat the Steelers and They took Texans to OT. I live in Nashville now, and they are much improved this year as are the Bolts. Should be another excellent, close game.

      Go Botls!!!

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Steelers are really bad, no one thought they would be but they are.

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i agree… defense is good out there

  • tubbs45

    What the hell??? bizarre….

  • 619chargers4life

Mike Harris held his own on the right side this preseason. i think we will be just fine if he has to step in. 2-1 baby here we come !

    • Gunnar Martin

Too bad he would have to go up against first stringers this time…

      • 619chargers4life

        Please enlighten me. Who ?

        • Gunnar Martin

Well I think he would match up against Morgan, Wimbley, or Pitoitua. Not sure who plays where. Out of those three, Kamerion Wimbley might be the only name you recognize (at least that was the case for me), but they are still starters instead of backups or guys who got cut from the team. Let’s just hope Fluker will pass the concussion test…

How could a skull like that get concussed? Have you seen head on that man? Doesn’t seem possible, does it, especially by our own guys?!

  • Tazzster

How does a lineman get a concussion in practice?

  • Thomas87

Flukkee… Bummer man hope he gets better soon we need that monster .. Don’t think Harris can run block nearly as well as fluker. I’m a little worried

  • Ioane

Can we ever catch a break? This really sucks. Hope he’s fine and can play on Sunday.

  • Bill Nichols

Alright people, let’s stop “f” ing up our own people. Damn what was he doing, head dives off the goal posts? That dude has a skull, I’m talking major cranium, would take a sledge hammer to hurt that beast. Hope you get better soon big guy, we need you. BOlt Up!!

    • Gunnar Martin

They even give him a helmet. How is this possible?

      • Bill Nichols

I think his wife beat him around his ears while he was sleeping. Heck, you could probably just strap a face mask around his head and he would be “a” “okay. Come on biggun, we need your ass out there. Bolt Up

  • RZ

Hope he’s better before Sunday..if this wasn’t the NFL I’d say let him rest a week we got this, but damn it is THE NFL and trying to win a game in this league is hard as hell..so get well soon Fluke. Boltz need you brother!

  • joerockt

Was it Wright AGAIN THAT M’FER!

    • NativeSanDiegan

Can’t picture Shareece giving Flukes a concussion. Could it have occurred during game when Flukes was knocked over sideways and Chargers don’t want to admit it? They haven’t exactly been very forthcoming about injuries.
Speaking of which, what’s the latest on Malcom?

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Hahahaha.. same thing crossed my mind.

  • joerockt

Was it Wright AGAIN THAT M’FER!

  • Alex Pitrofsky

    Can we win without him?………………idk

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Would it be a possibility to put Troutman or Ohrnberger at guard, and move Clary back to RT for the game? Not sure if it’s better to just keep Clary where he is, and put in Harris. Just trying to think outside the box.

  • Jordan Denning

Slide Clary back out to RT and bring in Troutman

    • Cgoodness13

Troutman is a pass blocker, you’d have to move CR to RG and put Troutman at LG

      • Gunnar Martin

Wait, I’m missing something here… why would the guards need to switch sides if they have different strengths?

        • Cgoodness13

Well usually you want the right side to be be better run blockers because most RBs like to run in that direction and Left side to protect the blindside of the QB
