Mike McCoy: It’s The First, It’s Only One Though

Mike McCoy ended his post game speech with the words “It’s the first… It’s only one though.” We got that first win out of the way. That is the hardest one to win. Now that we got that one out of the way though, we need to continue that momentum.

I love the message. It is only one though. Don’t get too hyped up over one win. Make sure that we get back and do the same things that we have been doing and be prepared to face off against the Tennessee Titans this week.

Stay focused and work toward 2.. and 3…. and 4. All the confidence that we built up in week 2 can be easily erased with a poor performance against the Titans.

Keep pushing and keep improving. There are tons of things that we needed to learn from the game last week. Pick up the wins and get focused for the next one. Never get comfortable and strive for perfection.

On to the next one.

    Fuck Norv Turner.

    That is all.

You are correct Ernie, it is only one win. To me it was the “timing” of the win that meant the most to me. If we had beat the texans, so what, nobody is picking them to win the Superbowl. If we had beat the titans, who cares, we beat up on another underperforming .500 team. No, our first win came, on the road, after a home opening loss, to a NFC east team, that the “experts” believing they were unstoppable.
I’m not saying the Chargers have finally made it, no far from it. I simply believe, with that win, the Chargers have taken every thing their coach has preached, applied it, and now possess the confidence moving forward, they can overcome adversity, and win a game.

Philip Rivers says “you lose a little bit of respect around the league” with lack of success the past three seasons. Have to earn it back.”

    And the church said Amen!

PR knows it. When folks say it, overly protective homerish fans can’t be objective. Props to PR…

    “NO EXCUSES”

Titans are going down so hard, I’d really like to see a relentless pass rush this game and try to throw Lockers timing off, he’s been good with no turnovers but it’s all dink and doink short stuff. Freeney should have a big game and get his sack numbers up.

      How’s their O line?

    • Stan Zab

What sack numbers? He has .5 sacks and 0 tackles after 2 games…non factor so far.

the numbers dont tell it all on Freeney’s impact

He is good at only 1 thing and thats pass rushing. He obviously has no pursuit game and bad awareness. Not LB material. I would only play him on 3rd and long.
