Manti Te’o Limited In Practice. Didn’t Test Foot Too Much

Aug 8, 2013; San Diego, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te

Manti Te’o stepped onto the practice field for the first time since injuring it in the first game of the preseason, but was limited in practice. He says that he didn’t test his foot fully during practice because he didn’t want to risk a setback.

He worked in individuals, worked on cutting and change of direction. It was more about getting his feet wet again.

Coach McCoy said that he showed some rust on the field, but that is understandable since he hasn’t been on the field since the first week of preseason.

Mike McCoy also said that he expects Donald Butler to start practicing this week. He has been listed with a groin injury. Coach seems more optimistic about Butler playing this week over Manti getting back to action this week.

It seems that the best plan for Manti’s return would have him back on the field for Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Got to have them both out there for the Cowboys, I think we can handle the Titans without Manti but we do need Butler out there. Minor groin injuries blow, I have one that reoccurs from time to time with weight lifting. Seriously best thing in the world to get that area to relax is accupunture.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Good news in Titan land WR Kendell Wright might have a concussion and miss the game Sunday, if this is parlayed with some sort of punishment for Kenny Britt for being a big dousche the Titans could be missing there #2 and #3 WR’s. That could be good news for our secondary.

  • Gunnar Martin

We need both of them to stack the box in Tennessee. If they can’t get CJ going, then we should really blow that game open. If not, then the contest will be a lot closer than we would like…

I predict a good ole’ fashioned rear end whoopin ; )

Trent Richardson to the Colts for 2014 1st rounder? why would they give up on him so fast?

    • Daryl Peek

      NORV

    • boltingindiego

tanking for teddy its between them and jacksonville.

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I’m actually interested now in following who wins this, tamking in 2 games lol sucks major balls for Browns fans but hey you might be alot better next year.

        • boltingindiego

the key of 1st pick might go down when they both play each other. What would be funny is if they both tie in that game

  • Alex Pitrofsky

It would be really bad if we didn’t have Butler against Tennessee

  • Stefanie Smith

Major stupidity in Cleveland – trading Trent Richardson to the Colts for a first round draft pick next year. Down right stupid. Good job, Cleveland!

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

They need a QB and probably care less about the RB right now

      • arnie

More like their new OC doesn’t know what a RB is.

        • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Nah they just need a QB and are going all out for it, throwing the season right now is nuts though. Jags and Browns going all in for battle of the suckiest

          • Daryl Peek

Colts provided a 1st. round draft pick opportunity that’s hard to look past. Especially given how deep the 2014 draft will be at QB. The RB position is devalued in this passing league era.

Agreed on the look of it for this season. I’d keep an eye on Philly for change coming soon… http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/18/eagles-players-are-still-slowing-down-the-chip-kelly-offense/

          • boltingindiego

the colts are securing their backfield with 2nd year rb to go with also their 2nd year qb. Plus their trying to make the playoffs again which would make it a late 1st which wouldn’t be that bad of a give up.

          • arnie

A good RB is a good RB. The whole reason they still have the position, is to take “pressure” off the QB. The more they try to get away from how the game was established, on the ground, the more trouble you end up in. The post season is where it shows.

          • Daryl Peek

RB are easily replaceable in today’s NFL. In the post season it is the QB and the passing game that’s the difference. We saw this with Flacco last year. Eli has two Rings because he shows up in the playoffs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying a good RB is not needed but it is the QB that’s more important.

          • arnie

Uhm yeah. Tell that to the Vikings.

          • Daryl Peek

AP is a beast but how is that QB thing working for the Vikes? Andy Reid is sho nuff happy about Alex Smith right now.

          • arnie

They seem to be fine, but it would be worse if AP wasn’t there. Just like how worse it’s going to be, for the QB in Cleveland.

          • Daryl Peek

Tanking this season was a given in this trade. Their looking at 2014

          • Brandon Rios

They were 0-2 with Richardson so they couldve kept him. Now they have to draft another rb. Fucken retards.

          • arnie

Yeah i get what they are trying to do. consider this Andy Reid polished cow chips, so i would think it was nothing for an offensive “genius” to get more from what they have.
Besides getting in on the QB draft this early isn’t wise. What if the guy they want doesn’t declare for the draft?

    • Daryl Peek

Richardson looks like he might be a bit injury prone. Norv is probably scared of that! LOL

TR doesn’t have a great yards per average either

    • Cgoodness13

Ya I see the colts going around 8-8…so that’s like a 18th-20th pick? Wasnt Trent the number 3 pick last year?

    • Gunnar Martin

The Browns will be the Browns…

  • arnie

    Limited? AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW man!

  • Rob Base

    Limited huh! Grrrrrr

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Max Starks just signed with the Rams lol Did they not notice his cement shoes in our preseason game footage? Sometimes your name can get you a deal over the actual talent level you posses.

  • Cgoodness13

We need all the help we can get in coverage, glad he’s back…I’m not expecting big numbers but I’m sure he’s going to win defensive rookie of the year just because he’s Manti Teo
