Healthy Eddie Royal Has Been A Difference Maker

How about Eddie Royal!? He is playing out of his mind right now. He has become on of Philip Rivers’ favorite targets in the red zone. So much for Philip Rivers only liking 10-feet tall receivers.

Royal has 5 touchdown receptions this season already. He is going to be relied upon heavily with Malcom Floyd out and other teams will start putting more attention toward Royal. Things won’t come as easy as they were before, but I think that the Chargers offensive scheme will still allow Royal to make big plays.

Royal was expected to make this type of impact with the roster last season, but struggled with injuries. He has come into this season healthy and has sparked the offense. He is tough to cover in space and will be one of the weapons that Philip Rivers uses throughout the year.

I look forward to having Royal healthy for the season. He can be a difference maker for Philip Rivers and the offense.

those teams that try to key in on Eddie, will have 2 pick their poison…Gates getting double teamed vs the Eagles allowed Eddie, M80, & co. to contribute as they did…loved every bit of it too.

Looks like M80 will be sideline next week against the Titans..(if Gates & Royal are double teamed) look for Tutu to come up big for Rivers

I don’t know, they let Eddie go on his second TD and doubled Allen in he end zone.

He has been great! I hope someone else carries the punts, don’t need him getting injured. He has a crazy vertical leap too! #BoltUP

Keenan Allen also returns punts.. your right we can’t risk injury to ER

I know Fozzy coughed it up, but I’d rather he continue in those duties.

Reporter: “Hey Norv, what do you think about what they’re doing with Royal over there in San Diego?”

Scrotum Neck: (Eyes dart around nervously) “It’s not my fault he sucked last year!”

Eddie has been awesome. I’m also excited to see what Allen can do. Manti will start practicing on Wednesday which could be big for our defense. Our secondary has been awful, we should really consider Kerry Rhodes. He’s a very good safety. It would also allow us to move Gilchrist back to NCB where we need the help.

Ok which 2 WR’s should I start between Dwayne Bowe, Julian Edleman, and Eddie Royal??

        advice was correct!

IMO Eddie Royal is SD version of Wes Welker with Denver… both the bolts and the broncos offense are similar if the not a carbon copy of each.. which mean the slot WR of both offense features the dangerous Royal with SD & Welker with the broncos

This is such a change from what we’re used to seeing in the chargers red zone offense. It used to be just throw it to Gates, Floyd or Vjax in the endzone hoping they could outjump the DB I don’t even remember them throwing screens or picks on opposing DBs, getting the ball in their hands and letting the WR make a play into the Endzone with Norv

If we only had Danario healthy we could’ve had an amazing one-two punch. *sigh*
