Here are some keys for the Chargers to pull off this victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. Not many people are giving us a chance to win this game, but we definitely can make some things happen. It will be a tough task, but we have to erase last week from memory and keep pushing forward.

Wrap up

Philadelphia Eagles RB Lesean McCoy is a shifty back and will make some defenders miss. The Chargers defense needs to make sure to bring down McCoy when they get to him. If he breaks free, he will be running for a long gain. Need to contain McCoy and that Eagles running game.

Backside Pursuit

McCoy makes plays happen out of nothing. If the play is going in one direction, McCoy could eventually come back the other way and the defenders need to continue their pursuit to the football. If they let up a little, he will take advantage and go a long way.

Keys to the game… Don’t get conservative with your play calling in the 3rd quarter, don’t let their #1 weapon wander around the backfield uncontested, don’t let them bite off chunks of running yards all game long, don’t get fooled by trick plays, and DON’T GIVE UP!!!!! Oh, and remember to send the officials flowers before the game… lol.

I’d like to see alot of Weddle up in the box trying to figure the plays out and helping Butler figure out what they are doing, to bad we don’t have much other safety help.

Wad up with B. Taylor is he game ready yet?

      • Peter Thompson

Dood… you read my mind Blanksy.. What IS up w/ Taylor. They teased us by putting him in in preseason, and he had the most tackles (and not Bront Bird kinda tackles). Then they make him inactive. I hope that was more about caution. That safety position has been my pet peeve FOREVER. I wish they would stop dicking around, and get someone halfway qualified out there.. good grief.

Ya if SS play sucks all year I think it’s got to be handled in FA or our 2nd round pick next year or even a first if Dunlap kicks ass and wins the LT job of the future.

oh to have Vaccaro… you see he played linebacker in the dime and in the 3-4 for the Saints last week… SIGH

          Nice……I wonder if he plays

        • Peter Thompson

Let’s hope it means that he is playing, and not that he COULD play, if they absolutely have to.

Do your Job on Defense and make sure your where you’re supposed to be. Staying disciplined in your assignments is going to be a big factor against the eagles. That article at the U-T shed some “light” on the situation.
