The wait for Manti Te’o will have to wait for another week. The anticipation is killing me. I would love to see the kid on the field, but he has to recover from that ankle sprain. Sometimes those things can take some time to heal. I do believe that it is an ankle sprain though. I know there has been some discussion among the fans thinking that the team is covering up some other injury, but those sprains can take some time. Sprains can take longer than broken bones to heal and it is obvious that it was not a minor sprain for Manti.
Will he be ready for the following week? If I had to guess, I would say yes. I don’t know if he would get a full plate of work in that game, but I think he will be back out there. He has been running around without that boot on for a couple of weeks now and has been doing more and more work as time goes. I think he should be able to test that foot out in a full practice now. I think it will be that time in week 3. Hopefully we will have a win under our belt by that time.
