If you are at home sitting back and enjoying the game, jump on the laptop while watching the game and hit up the comments section and talk among the Chargers faithful.

To get the comments started, send in your predictions for tonight’s game.

Here are a few of my predictions… You already know I have the Chargers selected to win this game. Here are more:

Ryan Mathews has a coming out party. Is the best running back on the field today. I know that is BOLD.

We force a pair of turnovers. Freeney gets a couple of sacks.

I don’t like making excuses but the refs handed Houston an extra 4 points in the 3rd.. With that said we took our foot of the gas and paid the price. A lot of things to hang your hat on from this game, but also more of the same. When will this team stop beating itself?

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

      I don’t know B.. I don’t know. Hopefully in week two… with a new set of refs.

  • Stefanie Smith

I am about ready to throw up. I get so tired of this. And then to think we ponder spending $129 per ticket to have our guts ripped out. Not fun. Not fun at all when we find new ways to give a game away.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I’m sorry Stef. Don’t give up, OK. I immediately thought of you when the game was over. Love you sista!

      • Stefanie Smith

Ditto back at ya. Man, this is painful. It was so great seeing them play well for awhile. Chargers have it in them–we saw it. Why do they do this in the end?

        • arnie

Hang in there Stefanie, Rome wasn’t built in a day. There were some good things to build on.

    • RussinSactown

OK, this happened. The question is how do they follow this. Do they play like world beaters or play like they’re beat?

    • Pels04

This solidifies that the football gods hate the chargers

  • arnie

I know there is an old saying, “don’t let the ref beat you, and don’t beat yourselves”, the Chargers had three opponents on the field, the texans, the refs and themselves. If they can correct beating themselves, there is nothing the refs can do and they only had to play the texans.
    FIX IT!

    • Brandon Reisinger

No truer words where ever spoken! Refs spotted them 4 but we gave up a 21 point lead. I just hope the new staff will fix it as where the old staff would be complacent to do the same shit next week

      • arnie

Well know, if we see them plying 10 yards off deshaun Jackson.

        • Brandon Reisinger

Seriously!ive always been a supporter of Pags, but that shit has got to stop! Let our guys play! For Bette or for worse let them play

  • Stefanie Smith

And why did we not try for it on 4 and 2 with 3 or so minutes left to go? What difference would it make if we didn’t make it? Why kick it away? So the Texans would have more time to score> ?

    • Ignatius

I was thinking the same thing. The running game was almost non-existent in the second half. It was obvious that the passing game was in a slump, why not run it? Throw a screen pass? Anything to keep the ball out of Rivers’ hands.

  • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

Need 4 quarters of football this Sunday….Please use running backs!! Coach, use what works in heavy doses please!! Ladarius needs to be in there too…We all had plenty to root for in the 1st half, but zip in the 2nd… C’mon!!!!

  • Trey P

This was a poor performance really..We never opened up the field..and wheres our defense..so so pressure..and no screen passes..phillp did even get 200 yrds passing hopefully is more of the texans than us..and whos gonna be a playmaker on offense..but hey its one game people thought we were gonna get blown out..

    • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

agree, but they could have won this game…on to the next one…

    • boltingindiego

we had a great screen call and if 92 didnt make the tackle or hardwick was faster where he could have made the block on him 1st down for rm24

  • boltingindiego

have to play a full complete game not a half. no holes in the 2nd half rivers was off on some throws and recievers didn’t catch the ball.

  • boltingindiego

also why couldnt have cushing of followed the slot reciever who did a short crossing route instead of diving catch on woodhead

    • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

Because they were never able to get the running game going, the swaps on the Chargers’ players on O made it predictable what they were gonna do during that 2nd half, they barely used Woodhead, then putting in Brown over Mathews….it blows, but week 1 is done….wish they would got that W

  • gloo

“Who is that #80 in the blue, he just might be a player someday” – J.Pagano

  • boltingindiego

we need a possession reciever like a dre or boldin.

    • Gunnar Martin

That would be Vincent Brown, if Rivers could just throw the ball to him. He either doesn’t have the time or he doesn’t see him open. And then there’s those times when Brown actually gets the ball and shows how freaking amazing he is, like his end-of-the-half, reach-for-the-pylon TD he had.

      • boltingindiego

im talkin about a big body possession wr who can box out and use his body wr like what i said a boldin or dre. we dont have that type. nota a knock on brown who i think will be awesome doesnt have that size.

        • Gunnar Martin

Well, maybe that could be Keenan if he bulked up. He’s often compared to Boldin. I don’t really see it, but hey, if they do, it’s possible he could turn into something like that.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

As soon as we get the money, we will.

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

    wow

Was hoping we got McCoy his first win.
Bad way to start, but it’ still a long season.

  • gloo

What can you say? They’re improving, this time they only blew a 21 point lead instead of a 24 point lead…baby steps!

    • CALiFORNiAkiD

      lol

all we can do is laugh at this point…On to next week.

      • Stefanie Smith

It doesn’t get easier. The D is not prepared for the Eagle’s hurry up offense.

        • CALiFORNiAkiD

          true

        • Gunnar Martin

If we think they were gassed after this game, well…

        • CALiFORNiAkiD

Good thing the eagles don’t have Andre Johnson.

      • gloo

Laugh indeed…losing like this deserves a name, like paganoed or something. Though that would be a disservice to his brother Chuck. So I’m leaning toward Chargerian, as in, “that was one hell of a Chargerian loss”…meh…but another loss like this and it definitely deserves a title of some sort.

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

    Bront Bird was horrible today

    • Ignatius

He is what he is, a backup linebacker. Granted, I don’t think Te’o would have done any better.

      • CALiFORNiAkiD

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bird got cut tomorrow

      • Gunnar Martin

Te’o would have done MUCH better. Bird did bad in every aspect of the game. At lest Te’o would have helped our run defense quite a bit.

        • CALiFORNiAkiD

          exactly

        • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

wish they’d come right out with it already and say what’s wrong so we can get a timetable 4 his return…..

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

The main problem last season was we couldn’t finish off games.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Do you think McCoy ever went over to Pagano & said… “Hey.. what’s with the soft coverage for the last 25 minutes?”.. or “Whiz… why did you abandon the run game, and call three straight passing plays on our own 13 with 4 minutes left, and punt to give them great field position?” Isn’t that the head coaches job, who isn’t calling plays.. managing the coaches? I hope he learned his lesson there… that might as well have been Manusky out there. I don’t think Pagano will be back next year… or sooner. Hope McCoy doesn’t let his coaches make him a clown like that again.

    • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

I concur….they lost focus that entire 2nd half…now I gotta hear it from all the Anti-Bolts w/ all the “Choker” comments……I was entertained that 1st half and found myself dropping F bombs the rest of the second half…..LOL
Man, might have to sacrifice a chicken in front of my SD Helmet Fathead Sunday….it gets so frustrating, because they gave that one away. I took tonight off. Glad I did due to NFL’s greed of airing dbl headers….Bastards! Take a way all the negatives, and I like the good stuff they did tonight, minus not getting RM24, Woodhead, and Ladaruis involved more. Here’s to week 2!

  • Rob Base

New GM, New Coach = same old chargers. It’s going to look ugly against the eagles

  • Gunnar Martin

Cox had a terrible game. Sure he made lots of tackles, but why was he making those tackles? You don’t want your name called much as a corner. You don’t want to give Andre freaking Johnson a ten yard cushion every play.

    Shareece on the other hand…

    • CALiFORNiAkiD

Cox was horrible, let’s hope he gets better.

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

The Cam Thomas penalty will give me nightmares tonight

    • Gunnar Martin

I bet we would have won if that hadn’t happened. I swear, the refs have it out for us every single year…

      • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

let the wussification of the league begin…that was such a bs rule to call…..

        • Gunnar Martin

If they’re gonna start calling that, fine. But don’t start at a pivotal point in the game. That was ruthless.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

    Where was Keenan?

  • Stefanie Smith

Now, for the next three days, we will have to listen to all the crap about the Chargers and how they blew it from all the stupid sports people.

    • Gunnar Martin

This is when I crawl into my hole under a rock in my backyard for a week. And then when I come out to watch the Philly game, I’ll be right back under it in two hours.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I wrote an article earlier this week, called “Don’t hold Back”. I said that how they used Green, Woodhead, Taylor is important, and Novak should kick it out of the endzone. Woodhead was barely used. Green was barely used… Taylor didn’t play, and Novak was his same old not kicking it out of the endzone slef.
I don’t even care if they lost tonight.. just not like that. Anyway, nite folks. You all RAWK!!!!!! Even Daryl.

    • Daryl Peek

      LOL

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Hey… I give you shit, but I was really happy to see you on the open thread.

        • Daryl Peek

          All good.

          • Gunnar Martin

            I like you Daryl :)

            …Things just got weird…

        • Daryl Peek

We just gotta get that win in Philly Sunday to secure that Superbowl karma.

    • Gunnar Martin

Green totally should have been used more. They were looking for mismatches all night in man coverage. Why not take a peek at that 6’6 guy right in front of your face Philip? I hear he runs a 4.5, too! And Taylor should start at SS next week. Gilchrist can go play the nickel until Marshall can figure the D out.

  • Trey P

You play to win the game!!!!But the chargers play to almost win the game lol…Im use to this so im ready to laugh of the heat ima get thrown at me for this loss haha!

    • Gunnar Martin

I think from now on I’ll only be watching the first half of every NFL game I see, and then make my own standings. I’ll have to figure out a way to simulate the postseason though…

      I got it!! Madden.

      • Trey P

Haha..This is getting ridiculous tho i bet the newcomers in the locker room looking at weddle and rivers llike dang is yall use to this lol..

    • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

      “…If you’re not first, you’re last!” lol

  • Stefanie Smith

I tell ya. They have it in them because we were able to score. So something happened. In real life, someone would get fired for screwing up so badly.

  • arnie

The bright spot in this game? Rivers was not the one who gave it away. Even though his only pick in the game was a pic six, I still can’t put this loss on him.

    • Stefanie Smith

      Agreed,

    • Gunnar Martin

Although I won’t forgive him for that 3rd and 2. He’s gotta make that throw.

      • arnie

True. Regardless though it should have never have come down to that. He threw them to a 21point lead, at the very least the could have kept them out of the end zone and kicking field goals. There was no need to play conservative in the second half.

        • Gunnar Martin

Our line absolutely has to get some push on the line of scrimmage. Now, that is the Texans we’re talking about, but still. Our offensive system won’t work without a run game. At least not for four quarters, as we just witnessed.

          • Daryl Peek

Especially by next week. Philly is a small D-line, so they can be pushed around but they blitz ALL day!

          • Gunnar Martin

Not good for a guy who kinds SUCKS at throwing quick passes through traffic

    • tubbs45

That penalty on Cam was BRUTAL

      • Gunnar Martin

        Cost us the game

    • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

just looked at the upcoming games, and based on week 1 results, Eagles new O poses a problem, Titans & Dem Boys got a W…So IF they don’t fix the mistakes of this week’s loss, it’s gonna be a long bumpy ride…..C’mon Chargers and Coaches!!!

      • Gunnar Martin

Titans were still very weak. Jags, well, you know. Eagles’ O will be tough to slow down, but I think we can do it. Controlling the clock will be vital in that game. Dallas’ defense looks very solid. Redskins, however, look like they are beatable now. Still a long ways to go.

        • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

PagZ made the D look like they were on skates tonight….I hate that…I’m right there hopin’ w/ u that they get it all corrected….

          • Gunnar Martin

Getting pressure on Vick will be vital. Our four-man rush has to do better.

    • RepOurChiefs

      Smh lol

  • Gunnar Martin

At least that was our second-hardest opponent of the year. We DID do well. JJ Swatt didn’t even have a sack (right?). I would like to see us be more committed to the run game, though. Those running lanes won’t open up unless we keep pounding it. That’s why Ryan doesn’t break long runs very often- he doesn’t get the chance to keep wearing the defense down himself. It’s a bigger issue than most think.

    • Trey P

problem is our hardest opponent is in our division..

  • tubbs45

We need pagano for the first half D and someone willing to play our D in some press coverage NOT FUCK SOFT ZONE…..

  • Trey P

Pagano is scared to be agressive proly only 5 blitz the whole game..

    • Gunnar Martin

We NEED more blitzes!! And, no, Weddle doesn’t count.

I do think this will change more once Manti is back.

  • Daryl Peek

We only dressed 3 OLB’s. Does anyone besides me think we need to hit the FA wire?

    • Gunnar Martin

Maybe, but I think we just need to activate Tourek Williams. And Brandon Taylor. And Manti will probably be back next week. And… oh you get it.

Why do we have to have inactive players on a 53 man roster again???

      • Daryl Peek

Freeny was gassed. We better get our cardio up by Sunday.

  • 619chargers4life

Ok so I’m not going to any more games . Im sick of walking up that hill after a loss . I’m over it . I’ve lost 4 games in a row . Maybe I’m the bad luck . Lame !!!

    • Gunnar Martin

You guys went dead in the stadium that second half. Can’t blame ya though

  • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

OK page admin…what’s up with the show 1 new reply link? When I click on it, instead of expanding, it takes me back up to the thread photo…..Is it me? Sucks b/c I gotta scroll all the way down again to find what I was trying to read….

  • Daryl Peek

I hate games like this where I have to avoid sports center for damn near a week! Sportting frustration

    • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

LOL, watch CNN or FoxNews….that’ll get your mind off it……

  • Gunnar Martin

On a positive note, Shareece Wright looks like a very good piece to our D. He should be around for a long time.

  • steve james

Cry me a River. Lol haha and more. Its not me its the Miller talking. Sorry Chargers fans I can’t help my self:p

  • Daryl Peek

See this is the kind of BS I’m already dealing with…

Keep supporting this team win, lose or draw….Is it an addicition? LOL I hope everyone will get over this one… Had a blast reading everyone’s thoughts thru this thread! Deuces!!

  • RepOurChiefs

Just 1 game guys and alot of football left.

    • Stefanie Smith

This is the excuse they used last year. One brick at a time, it builds. “It’s just one game”–that turns into two, then three, then four.

They have to find out what is in their psyche that makes them give up games. Sorry. No getting around it. They are giving games away.

  • Jordank

8:15am and I’m still pissed! I can’t even watch my regular nfl network am
