Ravens vs Broncos: NFL Opener Open Thread

Let’s just run an open thread to start out the season. The hated Denver Broncos will be going up against the Baltimore Ravens and all of San Diego should be rooting against Peyton Manning and those Donkeys.

Joe Flacco will be my favorite player for a day and Ray Rice can be forgiven for a few hours. Time to root for any team that is playing against those Donkeys.

This should be a fun one to watch. It is a rematch of that AFC Championship game and we will be hoping for the same results. Join in on the fun and hit the comments section. We all know that you will be watching the game.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Was just thinking the same thing

  • joerockt

Ha, rain delay. More proof that God hates Denver.

    • 1961 Fan

That is a dumb statement, coming from the source I understand!

      • joerockt

Oh cool, 1961 Fag has trolling skillz. Go on, keep it up. Though I’m sure you’re not used to “keeping it up” these days.

        • 1961 Fan

You are a disrespectful little kid resorting to name calling; anytime you wish to say those things to my face let me know. East county (Wells Park) or in San Diego Metro
(Balboa Park) I am ambulatory enough to meet.

          • joerockt

Awesome, e-thugging at its finest! Funny, you told me you never travel outside of the gay bars of Hillcrest. That’s cool, you just keep trolling for ass in your own neighborhood.

Oh and your statement to my original post is the picture of respect. Honestly, eat a dick.

Keep trolling and e-thugging me and I’ll keep giving you what you deserve. Or you can just ignore me and I’ll ignore you.

          • 1961 Fan

You keep bringing up the homosexual things; YOU can be a Bolts fan and still be gay.
I see by the time stamp on your response that you are in an Eastern time zone, therefore challenging you to meet is moot. Tonight I will be sleeping with my wife (female) of twenty seven years. You can come out of the closet now, if you dare!

  • FitzWilly

    lol
    SP already sucking……………….

  • Alex Pitrofsky

  • Alex Pitrofsky

Have you guys read the two articles on the Chargers’ new stadium proposal?

  • Joel Ayala

Brandon Stokley is running some Horrible routes and looking Really Terrible out there. Maybe doing his pal Manning a favor. lol

  • Alex Pitrofsky

Welker didn’t catch it. Harbaugh you fucking dumbass

  • Adam

DO YOUR JOBS REFS!!!! THROW A CHALLENGE FLAG HARBAUGH!!!!! WTF?????

    • Joel Ayala

Harbaugh blew it. badly. changed the momentum. now it’s a route.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

He shouldn’t even have to. Hope the NFL hasn’t turned into the “What have you paid me lately” league. That was inefficient, to put it kindly.

  • FitzWilly

    fuck you Ravens
    bunch of useless dick-sniffers

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Awful dot com.. Meet your non-superbowl team circa week one.

  • boltingindiego

denver pass O with thomas x 2 and welker look pretty scary. decker not so much.

  • Alex Pitrofsky

I’m so fucking pissed. If Harbaugh would’ve thrown that challenge flag, this game would be a lot closer. The Ratbirds cant cover shit

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Both teams can go pound sand. Go Bolts!

  • Rob Base

So much for them Donkeys getting blown out smh! Ravens are sure playing like SB champs.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

They are over-hyped. Another team we will finish above.

    • boltingindiego

the ravens looked good until they had a teammate take out their wr. starting rt was injured and then the momentum shift of non catch.

  • Daryl Peek

Why did we let SP95 go again? Manning was a beast tonight! The AFC west is on notice. SMH

  • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

Holy Crap, 7 TDs…SD D is gonna have it’s work cut out for them…

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

No.. They will be tighter than that. Denver aint putting up 49 points on us.. Just sayin.

  • Pels04

Welp.. That game didn’t go the way I wanted it to

  • Gunnar Martin

I thought Peyton was supposed to be 36…

    • Rob Base

No shit I can’t stand the Mannings

  • Daryl Peek

Ok, let me get this in now. The Donkey o-line was pretty much horrible last night. They couldn’t run the ball (less than 70 yards rushing as a team) and Manning was sacked three times, as depicted in the picture of this post.

That being said, he still threw for almost 500 yards on 27-41 with 7 touchdowns and “no picks!” This is what elite QB’s can do.

I don’t wanna hear any o-line excuses for PR Monday night! Thanks in advance. *looking*

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

They are lucky they don’t have to face us until week 10. SO Lucky.

Our front is gonna destroy. Baltimore sucks in coverage, and missed a game changing challenge… McCoy won’t do that, and is wise to Peyton. He will out-think the thinker. Denver definitely got away with poor officiating. Finishing Baltimore is a moot point after awful calls. Kinda licking my chops. I thought they didn’t need help.

      • Daryl Peek

The Raven pass D was awful but they did pressure Manning and their run D was stout. The Welker call was bogus but the Donkey passing game was sharp as hell. The Raven pass game was very good also. The donkey pass D is suspect but Champ was out. SP95 looked like Von Miller out there.

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Pollard / Kruger / Pita / Ellerbe / Reed / Lewis / Boldin / Webb just came back.. The Orioles are turd buckets, and so were the refs. The Broncos looked very vulnerable, and McCoy will Out-Think the thinker’s tricks. Assuming they last until week ten. I don’t see a championship for Denver. Just like last year.

          • Daryl Peek

I hope your right. I’m not crowning the Donkeys. But they do look like their gonna be a problem. Hate him if you will, Manning is that dude.

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

We’ll see in week 10. Until then, we just have to beat other teams.

    • arnie

Daryl If PR gets sacked 3 times i don’t wan to hear any pissing an moaning from the fans about Dunlap, Fluker or Clary. This is Proof, EVERYBODY GETS BEAT. If this is the Offense McCoy installed in denver, i expect great things from the one here. Even if there are sacks.

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

        Truth.

      • 1961 Fan

You have a different guy throwing the ball here; how can you compare Manning to Rivers? Peyton just tied the NFL record of 7 TD passes in one game.

        • arnie

Three things. 1) I did not make any comparisons to Rivers an manning, the buzz word has been can Rivers be “fixed”, i say the system was broken not Rivers. 2) manning has become more comfortable in this system, yet he still helped his to 13 wins in his first season under McCoy. 3) Do you really think I give flying fart what manning did? He is not the QB of my team. The only problem I have is the talk of having NO O-line, and everyone flying off the handle when Clary gave up ONE sack in ONE game.

    • Stefanie Smith

Daryl, he also has a ton of WRs that he has worked with for more than this off season. Decker and Thomas and a couple others have had more time working with Peyton. You actually think a decent o-line does not matter? Come on now.

Also back in the day, our D would beat Manning–We don’t have the same D.

      • Daryl Peek

Stefanie, Allen and the back up TE, Phillips are the only new targets PR is throwing to. Brady’s targets change annually. Amendola (new to NE) is the best WR he has, we can’t name anyone else. No excuses, it’s time for PR to make his supporting cast better like other elite QB’s do.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Dang..I wish PR could One-Hop balls to the receivers, and make the opposing coach challenge multiple plays! We could easily put up a 49 burger! Anyone notice that the kickers put it out of the endzone all game? And when they couldn’t, it backfired? Talking to you, Novak. Hope that McCoy was telling you to do that on purpose in preseason, or we’re done.

Wow, Shaun Phillips did terrible filling in for Von Miller–Not!

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

If there is anything good to take away from that game it’s this… I am a little bit relieved that we are now not the only team to have a lead on the Broncos at halftime, and then let them put up 35 second half points! I wonder if the “experts” will give the Ravens as much crap as they gave the Chargers for a meltdown of that magnitude? I can already hear the excuses flying. Got any 4th & 29 jokes for us today, Ravens fans? Lol…

  • OP Bolt

Just a couple of thoughts after saying “SEVEN TDs? Against the SB Champs? AYSM?”
    - OK, these guys are pretty good. For the Chargers to beat them they will need to play error free, and have good luck. If our guys play average, they will be beaten, because the Broncos average is higher than ours.
    - Special Teams, Special Teams, Special Teams – IMO, the tipping point
of the game. By that I mean the fatal strategic momentum shift in the
game. I don’t mean to imply that the Ravens could have won the game,
only that I don’t think it would have been such a complete rout. Ironic
since Harbaugh was a ST Coach. Chargers – forewarned is forearmed.
    - Weak, injured, depleted Ravens WR group – no one could get open, when
they got open they dropped the ball, when they caught the ball the
Broncos defenders crushed them. Uh-oh ?
    - Broncos WRs, especially Wes Welker – enough said. How the heck are we going to shut them down over two games?
    - Against Payton Manning – pass rush or die on defense, long,
time-eating drives (with TDs) on offense (the same formula for the last
15 years). Not exactly sure what happened to Ravens’ run game, but in the second half it was either not observed or ineffective. Maybe they just ran out of gas across the board (physically and emotionally).

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

We could always just go 14-2, LMAO!!!! That was crazy scary to watch last night. I thought the 2012 Chargers were the only team to give up like that in the second half?

      • OP Bolt

Well, Norv had a long history (Redskins and Chargers) of giving up leads and running out of gas in the 4th Q to lose games, so hopefully that trait left town with him. I hope, but don’t expect that we can beat Houston. But if we are at least in it till the last whistle, I won’t go crazy.
