Texans S Ed Reed Doubtful For Monday Night Game Against Chargers

Houston Texans S Ed Reed is doubtful for Monday Night’s game. That is good. We don’t need a ball hawk on the field for Philip Rivers first real game with the new coaching staff and the new look offense. We can give him a little time to settle in.

Even with Ed Reed on the sideline, the Houston Texans have a lot of players on the defensive side of the football that can disrupt the passing game. Just knowing that J.J. Watt is on the field at the same time as Philip Rivers scares the crap out of me.

At least there is one defensive stud that will not be on the field though. I can get a little relief out of that.

Normally I would want our opponent at their best to really see what my team is made of, but with all the question marks going into this first game. I’ll take it! Hopefully Rivers has a solid game and builds some confidence going into the season.

If there is a game where we can use all the help we can get… this is definitely one of them.

Cushing can have the night off too while were at it lol We havent seen Cushing/Watt combo in over a year might be kinda scary.

I know… I was holding my breath that he wouldn’t play, or at least be rusty. Not sure if that will be the case = /

hopefully cush is rusty man with the injury layoff.

The title for this article should be “Ed Reed is Stealing From The Texans”, because he is. His heart may be willing but his body can’t go anymore. Whether he was looking fora payday, or the Texans pulled a meachum/gaither, by expecting Reed to do great things for them was a reach. A longer reach then the Chargers making the playoffs.
I hope the Texans do the right thing, put him on IR an open a roster spot for someone that can help their team, on the field.

reed will be fine once he fully recovers from his arthoscopic surgery couple months ago.

      • arnie

I’m aware of his surgery. And should have retired. this isn’t the first “hip” surgery he’s recovering from. Texans should move on.

        • boltingindiego

I think he can still make plays you don’t we’ll see whos right at the end of the year.
