Chargers Players Fighting For Their Jobs Tomorrow Night

There are a few players that are on the cusp of making the 53-man roster, but will need to have a good showing tomorrow night. Here are a few players that need to step it up.

Richard Goodman – Can he return the ball past the 20 yard line? Just need him to do it once! It is one of the must frustrating things to watch. He can’t keep the offense at a disadvantage with his poor decisions to take the ball out from 7 yards deep everytime.

Robert Meachem – He showed some life with Brad Sorensen at quarterback. He will have to show a lot more in that final game to take that roster spot away from Seyi Ajirotutu.

Seyi Ajirotutu – In my mind, he leads the competition for the final receiver spot, but he can’t let off of the gas.

William Middleton – We need help in the secondary and Middleton could make the roster. He hasn’t stood out, but that is usually good news for a corner. He has been solid when he enters the game.

Max Starks – All of a sudden he is battling for his job. He misses a block and everyone notices his slow feet. I would love to have the vet on the roster, but he has to win the job.

Mike Harris – The kid is battling and looking to take that spot as the swing tackle. I love the fight. Keep battling and keep working. I can see him getting the job.

love that goodman’s weakness as a returner is finally showing through…strongly.

    • Jordan

Yah man we haven’t had a decent returner since Tim Dwight!!!! brings back memories

      • Mark G

Yeah, crazy Dwight! Man I sure hope we have some “memory makers” this year. Too few great moments the past 3 years. And two of the “memory makers” from last year are on the PUP list.

I herd we cut Baker…..I was expecting R.Brown to be cut before baker

    • arnie

I agree with you, but i think in understand why. R.Brown is under contract, good for pass blocking and passing game. The other, cutting him would cost more against the cap, than baker. Finally Whiz has a closer relationship with Fozzy. So the odd man out was Baker.

    How about Thomas Keiser

    • arnie

Kid had three sacks. Albeit against 2nd 3rd stringers, but a sack is a sack.

you are right… forgot about that one

  • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

This team is gelling and taking shape. I LOVE the fight that everyone has been demonstrating. This looks to be the start of something super special that most people are overlooking. Oh and please keep Sorenson, if GOD forbid our captain goes down the kid would be my preference on leading this team with the same scheme. Sorenson is unafraid and has shown great poise in his play.

  • Cody Young

I might be beating a dead horse here, but Goodman has been making me crazy for 2-3 years now. Can you just juke ONE guy?! Just one. You don’t have to run full speed into the defenders, you can run AROUND them. Also, don’t put the ball on the turf when you are done with the juking. Watching Keenan Allen last week was like…..I don’t know, watching someone who knew how to play football.

      amen
      it’s like being married
same old moves, hitting the same hole
      not fooling anyone :)

  • Gunnar Martin

My gosh I just realized that Fozzy is poised to be the kick returner if (more like once) Goodman gets cut. That would make me so happy.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Yes he would be!!!

  • Gunnar Martin

I would be really, really, really surprised if Tutu didn’t make it. He seems like the only healthy receiver we have right now that has chemistry with Phil, except for maybe VB. Kinda sad, really.

I would be really surprised also
