And the injuries keep on coming. what the heck is going on?!? what kind of curse did Dr Chao put on us?

This one comes in practice and looks to be pretty serious. Serious enough to have the ambulance come out to pick up Eddie Royal from the field.

Royal went down hard in practice and the trainers rushed over to help him out. He was given oxygen and attempted to go back to the locker room, but stopped midway there and the athletic personnel had to give him attention. He was taken away in an ambulance and is headed to the hospital.

Coach McCoy said that he landed on his back and had shortness of breath. I’m not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn, he could have a bruised lung. Browns rookie LB Barkevious Mingo just suffered a bruised lung during the week and had to go to the hospital as well.

Coach Mike McCoy on Eddie Royal: “For precautionary reasons, we took him to the hospital to make sure he’s OK.”

Either way, prayers go out to Eddie and the fam.

Wow our WR’s core is looking scary I hope he’s ok! Lokes like TuTu may get a job after all. This really sucks!

    • arnie

Well if they were going to pick a FA WR, why not one PR is familiar with?

      • boltingindiego

pretty interesting that they picked the wr familiar to rivers and not the wr familiar with the offense.

        • arnie

Probably because this one is actually “likable”.
Timing an trust are essential to a QB/WR relationship. Besides the U-T reported PR an company are telling him what route he needs to run, in the huddle, when they call out the plays. Add on top of that he’s worked with the WR coach in carolina. hopefully the learning curve get smaller.

  • Gunnar Martin

    @#%@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • JoseSD

They said Mingo is only out a week with a bruised lung hopefully its a similar situation with Royal

  • Cgoodness13

Hope he’s ok, he looked amazing on film this year

Will everybody STOP getting hurt already!!!! Please tell me that Shareece was not the guy who took him down….

    • Stefanie Smith

You are so right, Pete. Shareece better not have been involved.

    • Stefanie Smith

Pete, who would be back their besides Shareece?

      • boltingindiego

easily could have been cox, a safety, or nickel back. depends on where royal lined up or he was wide open and he just landed hard.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i thought it was weddle…. not sure though

    • John Alton

Really, now you are pointing fingers and playing the blame game. Yeah real professional.

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

What are you talking about, bro? Professional? This ain’t my job.. there is no HR department on here.
And yes.. If Wright was involved in another collision that put one of the only good receivers left on the bench, it would be time to have a serious discussion about taking it down a notch. Hopefully that is not the case.

This is crazy!!! And what’s the status of Corey liuget????

    • Stefanie Smith

Haven’t read anything new on Corey. Should be something coming out soon.

    • Gunnar Martin

Strained shoulder. Doesn’t seem serious at all. That’s all they’ll give us.

  • Stefanie Smith

Some of these defenses have amped it up this year. We saw it with the Bears, but I was reading that the Saints about annihilated Matt Flynn.sacking him so much. There are other teams out there just as deadly – We have to get through the 9ers during preseason.Hopefully Chargers get through that game… then they have to face JJ Swat and the the rest of those animals.

We are not prepared and our alleged “depth” sucks in a major way.

    Dear Chargers,

Should I make plans this weekend, or sit by the phone? I have this thing I might go to for my niece. Please advise.

Speaking of WRs…..I just finished watching all of the game vs Bears…Holy Lightning Bolts, was that a Robert Meachum Reception that I saw???
Had Hill caught the pass at the 2 min of 4th quarter, they had a chance…..that kid may not make the team…he’s dropped a lot of balls….

    • boltingindiego

i really doubt hill will make the team.

  • Bill Nichols

I think the Spanos need to go to confession or take communion or maybe just drive past the church. Where is all this bad jew-jew coming from?? Quick, search the locker room for the damn voo-doo dolls. That’s it, I heard that A.J. was in Africa on vacation this summer, he probably took up a new religion (Joo-Doo). I hope I didn’t insult anyone’s religion, that’s is not what I am trying to do here. But damn, Cory has a dinged up shoulder, as does Hardwick, WR’s falling like the taliban, Brandon Taylor still hasn’t amounted up to much yet. Thank god Mathews is looking like a running back behind Fluker and what’s his name (Clary). Something needs to shake up this energy we are in currently, anyone have any suggestions??

  • Stefanie Smith

NFL.com is reporting that the Chargers state that Eddie has a bruised lung and a concussion.

  • Bill Nichols

Jesus, now we lost Williams for the year.!! Hurry Spanos, get your butts to church, or burn something, sacrifice???

  • arnie

i leave for a few hours and come back to this? please let Eddie be alright. this is all pointing to letting meachum stepping and saving us all.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Watch out Arnie… Suggesting that Meachem step up can get some folks REALLY worked up on here. ; )

      • arnie

LOL you started it when when DX an Floyd went down. Something to the tune of “… he has to step up now…”. ;)
Dude it’s like the stars are lining up for him to surprise us. there is a hole in the WR corps and he’s still healthy…. all he has to do is run his route and catch the ball.

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

          I know. .. We’re just a couple of Homers, though… Right Arnie? ; )
Health may be the only thing he has going his way. Don’t miss your chance, Robert.

          • arnie

LMAO!!!! EXACTLY! I’m proof a negative nay-sayer can change. LOL

        • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

lol, he did catch one in the 2nd half…AMAZING…I didn’t think he had it in him (#12)…..

          • arnie

baby steps. Step #1 run route. #2 catch ball.
