Chargers Lose CB Steve Williams For The Year

The San Diego Chargers can’t stay away from the injury bug. During Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bears, rookie 5th round draft pick CB Steve Williams tore his pectoral muscle and is expected to miss the season. Williams was expected to provide depth for the Chargers in the secondary. The depth there was already thin and now we lost a talented young player.

The Chargers have Derek Cox and Shareece Wright as the starters. Johnny Patrick would come in as the nickel. Patrick suffered a jaw injury in Thursday’s game, but it seems that he will be able to return without much of a problem.

The Chargers will have to find more depth at the position. This will give rookie Marcus Cromartie a chance to make the roster. We just can’t seem to stay away from that stupid injury bug.

In some good news, WR Malcom Floyd was working on the side field and catching passes. Really good news for the offense.

Damn, is our team made of glass players??! This is getting ridiculous.

  • Cgoodness13

Maybe give that Brown guy a call now? Williams looked so good, it’s really sad to see him get injured this early on.

  • Peter Thompson

Dang it!!!! Next man up. Get well Stevie!

  • 619chargers4life

and best wishes to eddie royal as well. this stuff needs to stop

  • Jeff

Im at chargers practice and Eddie Royal just went down hard. It is bad enough that they called the ambulance. I am guessing a collapsed lung. This is not good

    • Jeff

He jumpes up to catch a ball in the endzone, and he landed on his back. He got up and started to walk off only to fall to the. Ground again. He is leaving for the hospital right now

      • Stefanie Smith

Eddie is in my prayers. omg. I hope he is okay, but does not sound good..

    Something new about Liuget????

  • Stefanie Smith

    This is getting ridiculous.

  • Will

Johnny Patrick better NOT be the nickel. Will Middleton was GREAT at nickel in Jacksonville. And Marcus cromartie is solid and could step in nice at the nickel if cox gets hurt (he’s prone) in which case Shareece becomes the number one and Middleton becomes the two. But that’s what the chargers get for letting Cason and jammer go. And that’s what u idiot fans get for trying to justify it and saying it was okay…

    • Gunnar Martin

      What up Will

    • Bill Nichols

Get a grip, “U” idiot fans….? huh? hope you are including yourself. Or are you the know all, see all, idiot in disguise…..

    • FitzWilly

      Hey Billy-Boy
I’d love to stay and talk, but I have to go

      maybe we can chin-wag later
      peace out Fuck-Tard

    • Rob Base

Hey Will your a douchebagg get lost!

  • Stefanie Smith

Next man up: The rate we are going, the gatorade kid better think about starting to suit up. Maybe the towel guy is available.

    • Gunnar Martin

We did just sign Tutu though, so at least there’s that.

      • Jeff

I talked to Tutu today and he seemed genuinely happy to be back in San Diego. He said “I just really have to learn the playbook fast”.

  • rickochey

yeah, the season is not looking enjoyable

  • Aaron Johnson

The ONLY good thing about the Royal injury is that Mike Willie has been looking good. I just wish it was Meacham that went down. We can afford to lose him.

2 weeks for a replacement CB to be chosen so hopefully one of the UFA step up in practice and show up on game day.

    • Stefanie Smith

Take that back, Aaron. We don’t want anyone to get injured like that. All these guys have families, etc. I am sure you don’t mean it the way it sounds. there is NOTHING about injuries even to our enemies that is good. Real bad karma wishing that on anyone.

      • Aaron Johnson

You are taking what I said literally. What I mean is that IF we had to have an injury I would rather have lost Meacham who I believe has very little value. But losing Meacham would mean he would have performed well enough to make the football field.

        • Stefanie Smith

          It’s all good.

  • Gunnar Martin

    • Stefanie Smith

      Exactly, G. What the F?

  • Rob Base

Man I didn’t even this this injury man our Bolts are F*****!

  • BruisingChargers

Dammit! It seems everytime I come on any site to learn something new about the Chargers it is another injury. Sucks, but that is what Pre-Season is for IE:to find out who can step up. But Dammit All………….

    • Gunnar Martin

      You’re not alone dude…

  • Bill Nichols

Cut it out Ernie!! Enough already……

  • FitzWilly

Steve Williams done for the year :(
What the hell is going on down there?
    I really liked Stevie
