Chargers Waived-Injured Danario Alexander To Make Room For Seyi Ajirotutu

In order to make room for Seyi Ajirotutu, the San Diego Chargers have waived-injured Danario Alexander. Alexander will be a placed on the Charger Reserved-Injured list when he passes through waivers. I don’t see any reason a team would pick him up. He will not be available for the year and becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.

There was so much potential with Alexander, but the injury big bit him again. I wonder what the team plans on doing with him at the end of the year. Would they offer him another low contract deal based off his potential or would they just let him walk away in free agency or possibly walk away to retirement. It is tough to take the risk on his knees. They have failed him over and over again.

I wish he was able to play for at least part of this year. We will find out what the future looks like with some of our receivers.

Sad for the guy. I just wished so much more for him. Thanks anyway DX!!!!

  • tubbs45

Tutu has had some opportunities elsewhere… Interested to see if he can rekindle the old fires… Welcome back Seyi!

  • Aaron Johnson

I just hope DX is given an open tryout when he is healthy. I know he has a past with injuries but until he cant come back from one, he still has enough talent to play IMO

    • Purcell jones

I agree he should be given an even opportunity to come back and complete for an open spot in my opinion outside of gates he was the best receiver on the team he can come back from these injuries remember Terry Allen Rd for the Redskins and Minnesota Vikings he blew out both knees and came back and had an injury free career

Going back to the beginning of the off season, T&M stated this would be an ongoing process. They Gave DX an opportunity to help this team win, based on his performance. However, unlike their predecessors, they are not going to hold onto players that can’t stay healthy, or produce. thanks for the memories DX, i wish you the best.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Now we know how the Rams felt, I hope he gets another chance as a Bolt.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Wow the Raiders Oline is terrible, should be able to rack up some big sack.numbers against them.

  • Purcell jones

I love TuTu but I say give DX a chance to heal the dude has crazy talents so much so I say give him one more shot at a career with the Chargers……what do we have to lose in doing so…..heal fast buddy “Go DX”

  • Alter Ego

DX is fantastic. I absolutely want him back next year. If he can play…he starts. The front office will treat him right – he will want to return. We are better with him -period.

  • 619chargers4life

hope tutu stays this time around

  • Stefanie Smith

DX will not stay here and take another low deal. He will feel like we are insulting him. I hope Alter Ego is correct and the front office asks him back. If I were DX, I sure would not feel good that they waived me. He’s a good player and I hope he wants to come back here.

This is why players want guaranteed money -in case of injuries.

    • BigBoltGuy

They had to release him so he can pass through waivers. Then the Bolts can place him on IR. They had to do it that way because he’s not a vested player.

      • Stefanie Smith

ok, Thanks for explaining that. More understandable now.

    • Boltricity

Stefanie, don’t make a big deal out of the waiver thing. This is just routine stuff in the NFL. They know no one will pick him up as he’s injured and out for the year.

  • Ignatius

Danario, if you’re reading this, all of Chargers fans thank you for your effort and dedication to the blue en gold. It breaks out hearts our lastest steback and hope for the best for speedy recovery and wish you the best on your endevours.

    • Nick in PB

Agreed! I hope he get’s another chance here. If healthy, we haven’t seen a receiver here, with those capabilities since VJ left. No doubt he would have made his mark if healthy. Get well DX, Bolt fans are rooting for you!!!

  • Stefanie Smith

The guy probably just got his bandages put on and we are throwing him out the door. Nice. Real family atmosphere.
