Malcom Floyd Feared His Career Was Done

San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd went down and busted his knee yesterday and feared the worst. He started thinking that his career could be done. That is how bad the injury seemed when it started flying all over the internet.:

“It was scary,” said the veteran receiver. “You think about your family, think about your kids and think about your career… I came down pretty funny. I was pretty contorted. That stuff goes through your head when you go through something like that.”

All kinds of emotions must have been flying through his head during that brief moment of time. He dodged a bullet. The diagnosis for the injury is nothing close to the ACL injury that was feared by many. He is going to sit out the rest of the preseason games and will be out of practice for a while, but he will get right back on the field.

It is crazy to think that Floyd could have been done just like that. An injury like that could have put him on the shelf forever.  I would have hated to see a guy lose his dream that quickly. Look forward to seeing him back on the field making acrobatic grabs all over the field again.

Poor guy. Can’t wait to see him hit the field more motivated than ever and light the NFL up. This is gonna be his year.

I know in the past I’ve criticized him for being injured but after he went down yesterday I really opened my eyes to what he’s has done for the Bolts and making the choice to remain a Bolt. I am grateful M80 is going to be ok. I hope he remains healthy and puts up career numbers this year!

You’re not alone Rob. i’ve taken my shots at M80 as well. When he is the guy this team is leaning on, it put’s things in perspective, on how important he is, and the sacrifices he’s made. (he had to play under norv)

You can’t help but to feel for the guy. He’s come so far from an undrafted kid out of Wyoming! I’m just glad it wasn’t the dreaded ACL. What’s so sad is that all of these injuries are happening in drills, not even real contact. He’s a good guy and the Chargers need him… get healthy Malcom, we’ll be waiting for you!!!
