Malcom Floyd Leaves Practice On Cart. Right Knee Injury

Malcom Floyd has gone down in practice and it doesn’t look pretty. Floyd was down on the field with players around him in prayer as trainers examined him. It looks like he messed up his right leg, just like Danario Alexander had done. He also ran into Shareece Wrght on the play, just like Alexander as well. Dang it Shareece! Why are you playing so hard!

They had to take Malcom off in a cart. The cart is never a good sign.  This could be a huge blow to the Chargers offense.

We already lost Danario Alexander for the year with an ACL injury and it is not looking pretty for M8- now. When the cart comes out and players are huddled around in prayer, it is not a good look.

If Floyd were to miss a significant amount of time, the Chargers would then have to rely on Vincent Brown, Keenan Allen and Eddie Royal to carry the load for the Chargers offense. Those are a couple of inexperienced players on offense and Eddie Royal, who is not the most durable player on the roster.

The Chargers would likely have to look to the unemployment line for some help at receiver if Floyd is gone. Let’s pray that the injury to Floyd is nothing serious.

I’m about to start going postal on some fools.

No surprise, Shareece “The Traitor” Wright is behind all this. Dude wants the Chargers in L.A. so bad that he’s literally hurting his teammates.

  • Rob Base

That’s sucks shit is hitting the fan now! Who the Bolts going to turn to in free agency?

  • davacho

yah, the saints had morgan go down and the best they could do was old man crayton!

    • Rob Base

      I saw that today.

  • Stefanie Smith

    Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

  • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

Don’t blame Shareece for all this. The greatest fear of this receiving group was the injury factor. They ALL have injury history. Having DePalma and Tasker step up would probably bring down the win count this year but it would still give this team a fighting chance. Giving Philip Rivers a chance to throw the ball (.) is the key. There is no panic button to push and no chill pills to swallow. Keep up the hard work! BOLT UP!!!

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

THANK YOU, ACE!!! Throwing your anger at Shareece is not the appropriate reaction.

  • davacho

    brandon lloyd available?

    • Daryl Peek

Meh, pass. I’d rather Telesco find a younger kid with blazing speed. We need more team speed.

      • davacho

        would love it, but who?

        • Daryl Peek

The jury is still out on M80′s knee. Worst case scenario we have to hope Meachem steps up or shoot for a player like Legedu Naanee, who has 4.42 speed coupled with a history with PR.

I’d like to see more double TE sets with Phillips in the backfield at HB the way the Pats used Hernandez. The Pats used this to be far more effective in the running game than most recognize.

PR is just gonna have to step up his game like he did in 2010. No excuses! As I’ve argued, Brady looked like a machine last week while missing the production of Gronk, Hernandez, Lloyd, Welker, and Woodhead. If PR is truly elite he must step up for us!

          • Daryl Peek

Laurent Robinson could be an option also. Fragile also, I know. But wouldn’t hurt to bring him in.

          • Gunnar Martin

Well it wouldn’t hurt to bring in Lloyd, either. He would be as close to a number one receiver as we’re gonna end up with at this point.

          • Daryl Peek

True but how much money is he looking for? Keep in mind he’s the best available WR on the market, and that market is really becoming FA friendly the last couple of weeks.

Most players leave NE and don’t produce, thereafter.

  • Stefanie Smith

If Shareece is actually hurting his own teammates like Vaccaro does to his fellow teammates, then he should be canned. We can’t have it.

    • boltingindiego

ya sure like were gonna cut one of our starting cb’s. injuries happen just have to deal with it.

      • Stefanie Smith

I know they won’t do it, but you can bet his teammates think he is strange. First Danario, now Floyd. Unnecessary to play that goofy at training camp with his own teammates. You are also right that injuries happen – but seems that in this situation, one player only is doling out the injuries to other teammates.

        • boltingindiego

wright started last year no wr take outs. Its just unlucky because no teammate wants to hurt another one.

          • Nick in PB

Both of those injuries is what you would call freak injuries. There was nothing hard or aggressive with either play. It happens it’s just tougher when it happens to out 2 best receivers!

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Keep your eyes on the prize, Chargers!!! I will be saying prayers for M80. I know next man up doesn’t make anyone feel better right now. But, someone WILL step up, if Mike McCoy has anything to say about it. Lloyd doesn’t sound like a bad option at this point (is he still out there? Haven’t seen anything about anyone signing him)… neither does Meachem look to get cut now. (I think I just threw up in my mouth). It is what it is. These young receivers might see the first team this week, and will have a chance to show that they are the new face of the Chargers receiving corps!!!

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

    Let’s not blame Shareece.

These WR’s are Injury Prone…And we all knew that!

    • Gunnar Martin

That dude must have nightmares about his teammates suffering torn ACLs right in front of him. Just one after the other. I know I would.

      • CALiFORNiAkiD

        It’s not really a surprise.
But I see what you mean.

      • Nick in PB

Now if only he could do that to the OTHER teams WR’s!!! I was there. It was not what you would call a hard play. Malcom went up and then just came down funny with no knee bend… just straight down. I wasn’t on the side of the field where it happened but I was looking right at him and had a clear view of it. This really hurts.I just hope it’s not as serious as it seemed.

  • Rob Base

    Brandon Lloyd anyone, anyone??

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

    Hopefully the x-rays are negative.

  • Rob Base

Royal, Brown and Allen all taking first snaps.

    • Pels04

and hopefully all wearing knee braces

      • Rob Base

        Ya no doubt.

  • Pels04

Ah man! There goes all our height at WR

  • rickochey

this sucks but i am ok with it. We have Allen, Meachum, Royal, Tasker, Brown, Woodhead, Depalma, Willie. There is enough talent there for McCOy and Whisenhunt to put together a serious game plane. If McCoy can do it with tebow he can do something with this.

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

Keenan Allen did say he wanted to be a starter.
Looks like he got his wish

  • Dave

Use our Tight Ends more then i.e. Gates and Ladarius Green.

    • Stefanie Smith

      That is a great idea.

    • Gunnar Martin

Yes yes yes convert Green to a WR and sign Lloyd.

      • Daryl Peek

I mentioned the converting of Green also. Not high on Lloyd but he did catch 74 passes for just under 1000 yards last season.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I know its not likely to think we would go the rest of the season without more injuries but man these are tough. Wind being let out of the sail tough.

  • Angel

    ………….Terrell…………..
    ………….Owens……..

    • joerockt

      ………….Hell……….
      ………….No………..

  • 619chargers4life

    What’s new ?

  • tiiiiiiiiiiit11

ACL #5. To be honest, I’d wish Matthews would hurry up and tear his.. Then our offense could finally move on without him. Rather than rely on him and have him break or tear something in week 2 or 3

    • CALiFORNiAkiD

      calm down

    • Gunnar Martin

That’s about as un-classy as it gets right there. Not cool man.

Same goes for you too, natelan.

    • joerockt

Nothing worse than a “fan” wishing injury on a player. Way to fail at life, bro.

  • Daryl Peek
    • Gunnar Martin

Yeah… after seeing that list, it’d be absurd to expect anyone from free agency besides Lloyd to really make an impact. He’s really the only option left.

      • Daryl Peek

His price tag just might be out of our cap space range. All we can hope on is a Mike McCoy discount, since he has history with him.

        • Gunnar Martin

Well cutting CBJ/McClain/Ronnie Brown would give us a little room. Or they could take pay cuts. Just sayin it’s an option.

  • Adam

WTF??? I leave my phone for 2 hours and this is what happens?? Damn I was having a good day too

    • FitzWilly

      so it’s your fault eh
      i owe Wright an apology
      let’s get em guys :)

      • Adam

Haha IM SORRY!!!! It seems like he’s OK so call off the hunt!

  • Bill Nichols

Little faith people, please. He could be fine, he knows the play book, give him 2 weeks off, and he will be back out there tearing it up. If we put it out there, (A, C, you know who), then it might make it so. The mind is a very powerful thing, faith, faith, faith. Just a nick, x-rays = negative…… Bolt Up!!

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

Jamaal Charles was also carted off the field today.

But he was alright…Hopefully Floyd is too.

  • joerockt

Knee sprain. Probably might miss the first game.

    • CALiFORNiAkiD

Knee strains require as few as 7 to 14 days for recovery.

      • joerockt

Depends on the grade of sprain.

        • CALiFORNiAkiD

          You’re right.

I’m just hoping for the best. lol

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

    We dodged a bullet.

  • Sergio Quintero

The chargers have to survive the reevaluation which is no guarantee they will, since you can see better after a couple of days have passed when the swelling goes down. Hope for the best, the news sounds good, but I will have a sigh of relief if the news stays as a sprain by Thursday.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I’m just glad they aren’t immediately using the words torn ACL within a few hours, like with DX. Still holding my breath.

      • Sergio Quintero

The future is now for Brown & Allen, no matter the news on Floyd. Allen wanted to be starter, hope you are ready young man, pressure is on.
