Brandon Taylor Activated From PUP List

The Chargers have activated Brandon Taylor off of the PUP list and he is on the field practicing today. He is out doing DB drills and this will be a huge step for him to get back onto the football field and possibly the starting lineup. That is a huge help in a thin secondary.

Taylor tore his ACL in his only start last year and had to sit out the rest of the season. He is back tehre working, but we still have to see how he looks on the field. We didn’t get a good look at him last year, since he was only able to start one game.

Not everyone is able to come back from an ACL injury like Adrian Peterson, hopefully Brandon Taylor can be one of them.

Damn, medical technology is amazing. Hope Taylor shines so we can finally keep a SS for more than a year.

  • JoseSD

Good thing he’s back, it improves the depth at SS and brings healthy competition with Gilchrist and also improves the depth at CB and Nickel DB if Taylor can start at SS Gilchrist can fill double duty as a CB capable of playing outside and nickel and he can start at SS if needed to

Whut Whut?!!!! Great news for the kid.. Love it! Getting Taylor back would soften the blow of losing Super Melvin a little bit. Weird that he was only on the Pup List for a week. Is there a reason for that?

    • arnie

ACL are tricky. He may be medically cleared, but that doesn’t mean he’s at “playing strength” yet. Better safe than risks injury and lose him again.

      • boltingindiego

I agree about game shape doubt he will be playing until the 3rd preason game. Maybe the 2nd but i doubt it.

        • arnie

Yeah i could see that happening.

  • tubbs45

Cant wait to see the kid lay some hits down. Kudos to the medical staff!

  • 619chargers4life

Makes me believe if were in contention this year we will see a Melvin , Freeney combo

  • Adam

I remember reading good things about him when he was drafted last year…I have a good feeling about him.

  • Adam

What do you guys make of bront bird and mike Harris fighting? I don’t like it at all

    • veazy

Bront Bird seems like a dirty player. I remember seeing a few personal fouls on him during special teams plays.

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I remember that too. Wasn’t it a really dirty penalty for an illegal block in the back on a kick off.. On his first friggin play in?

        • Rex Lajos

It was against the SeaChickens in preseason. I remember think Travis Laboy was a better player, but they cut him and resigned Bront the following year. AJ…

      • Adam

I don’t know about that but I do all the players in the locker room love him the way they always make the birdcalls and you read articles about the players rooting for him to make the roster

    • CALiFORNiAkiD

      why not. I love it.
It means guys are ready for the season, ready to fight for a spot, and ready to fight for the Chargers.

      • Adam

I had thought about that aspect however I’m talking more About team unity and brotherhood

        • CALiFORNiAkiD

It’s Football!! It comes with the territory

        • arnie

All of that will get squashed in the locker room. They’re both fighting for a job. In competition things get heated. It happens all the time.

        • boltingindiego

this is training camp its usually normal to have a couple these especially in the 1st week where you haven’t been able to hit another team. Now if it happened in the reg season probably a different story.

        • Stefanie Smith

There’s no place for duking it out. We aren’t the Saints here. We’re a team. They better cut it out. Vaccaro on the Saints (a stinking rookie) got in a fight with Jimmy Graham and Pierre Thomas.

          Let’s not turn into that.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Is that a mismatch, or am I Trippin? Harris has an inch, and 75 pounds on Bront.. Lol. “Sit down, Rando”.. (For Super Trooper Fans)

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

happens in camp from time to time…. just what happens when people hit each other every day.

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

    Good news.

  • Aaron Johnson

I love to hear this kind of new. Taylor, had he not been injured, was my rookie impact player for SD last year. Hopefully he can be our sophomore stud

  • Rob Base

Hopefully he’s the SS our Bolts need for years to come.
