Jonas Mouton Carted Off Field In First Day Of Training Camp

Former 2nd round draft pick Jonas Mouton was carted off the practice field today with some sort of leg injury. Not a good way to start out the first day of camp for the kid. He was already fighting for a roster spot, but now he might not be seeing the field for a while.

The severity of the injury is not yet known, but we will keep you all updated as information comes out. Getting carted off of the field is not a good sign for the kid though.

Starting to sound like the next Larry English minus the major potential

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Larry English thinks that he is overrated

      • http://www.signonsandiego.com/ Ambitoos

        At least he’s a realist.

        • arnie

And invisible…i didn’t even know Larry was on the field.

  • Alter Ego

Coach Mouton now. When one door closes another one opens.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Good lord. There goes more depth, on day one. At least it isn’t a starter. Feel bad for the kid.

    • arnie

opens the door for the rookie Tourek…..

    • JoseSD

Best case scenario he was gonna be the #4 MLB behind Butler, Te’o and DJ Smith. Gachkar or Bird need to take that spot

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i think it will be Bird

        • arnie

i think you would be right, that dude can fly. no pun intended….lol

        • Nick in PB

I gotta go Gatchkar on this one, only because I am familiar with his college days. Plus, him and DX went to school together.

          • arnie

i liked the way Bird got out into the flat to cover the TE and RB. But then again, it may come down to who shines in preseason.

      • arnie

My bad Tourek is listed as an OLB
but i saw him lined up in the middle…..

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

And her played DE in college.. Versatile ; )

  • Cgoodness13

Eh he was kinda worthless anyways

  • arnie

i saw it LIVE. and the first rule of training camp. Never get injured on the first day of camp.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i have heard this rule again… hope they follow rule number 2 on day 2 of training camp

      • arnie

LOL 2nd rule. never get injured in the 2nd day of training camp.

    • Gunnar Martin

Did you see how it happened?

      • arnie

Jonas was going out to right side, got tangled up and went down. The strange thing, even though you hear about it, they called out bird into the lineup to run the next play, while Jonas was on the ground getting medical attention.

  • RussinSactown

Well I’ve heard that the average lifespan of an NFL player is 3 years. Time to work on his persona and talk to ESPN about a gig.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Can anyone recommend an online radio station to listen to Chargers coverage while I work? Is there one? Every time I search for one, it directs me to some station that are re-hashing Patriots crap = /

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i go on xtra 1360 and xx1090 online… but usually during work hours it is a national show… which sucks. you can get something from them early in the morning and after 2 i think

      • Nick in PB

They both go national after 9:00. Local programming resumes after 1:00, I think.

    • Sergio Quintero

Try the podcasts for 1090 & 1360, that should cover you for at least an hour of programming.

      • Nick in PB

When you listen live, it more like commercial time. I have a 35 minute drive to work and I’ll bet that between the two stations, there is 20 minutes of actual airtime. 1360 has the Charger Power Hour at 3:30.

  • JoseSD

I hope the LBs don’t become the snakebit group of the year 2010 it was WRs,, 2011 and 2012 was o line

  • joerockt

    Wow. Just wow.

  • Rob Base

Larry English 2.0! That sucks! Next man up.

  • Gunnar Martin

Hate to sound cruel but at least it was only him…

  • FitzWilly
