We are now approaching Preseason Football, so I figured it would be a good time to find out which games the BoltBeat family will be (or think they will be) attending this year. It’s never too early to get the ball rolling, as tickets are already on sale. Some of you have season tickets, so you can have your pick on which games you would like to meet up for, if not all of them. Everyone has their regular “tail-gating crew” outside of BoltBeat, so it might be cool to have them come over to meet us, and us meet them, and possibly get them turned onto the site. We can always use passionate Charger fans on here, and meeting up only makes it feel more like a family experience… not just some blog, where half of the commenters don’t have their money-makers as their avatars. I LOVE chatting with you guys on here, and it would be great for some of us to put names to the faces.

Last year, I was lucky enough to have met our fearless leader, Ernie, and other members of the BB Crew at the Dallas preseason game (even though Ernie had press tickets, and didn’t sit with us… lucky guy). We all met up in the parking lot, got to know each other a bit, shared some food & drinks, and (in my case) pounded a couple of cold tall boys to avoid paying $9.00 a pop for beers, and work up some “team spirit” before we entered. A lot of us bought tickets together, in the same row, and it was AWESOME to jump for joy, put our faces in our hands, yell at the opposing team’s fans, and even buy each other a beer. We won that game, so it made the experience that much better.

Arnie had even suggested that we get some sort of Bolt Beat banner made up, so we can rep ourselves at the games. I’m not sure what the logistics of that would be, or who would keep the banner safe between games, or where it would be kept. Perhaps somebody who has season tickets can volunteer to bring it to each home game, or keep it at a location close to the “Q”, where somebody could scoop it up if they wanted. Or, just make your own. Heck, maybe it would even get spotted on Monday Night Football… wouldn’t that be great?!!! If anyone has a hook up on making banners, perhaps we could all pitch in via PayPal, and have it made up? That is just one idea Arnie had. But, feel free to come up with your own, as there are many ways to show your Charger / BoltBeat pride!

Also, I will  be conducting some interviews at the games I will be attending, and recommend others to do so at the other games. I can start a “BoltBeat Fan Interview” series, so that we can all see the people we are posting with everyday. Get their viewpoints about what will happen at the upcoming game… or, “exit interviews” for what actually happened, after the game is done. Maybe even interview some other fans at the game. I did that last year, and it was pretty cool to get different viewpoints from everyday fans. Also, we can post pictures, and random stuff from the games here on the site, on Twitter, and on Facebook.

I hope that this thread can help start getting people thinking about this, as it would be really fun to organize something like that. Maybe once we get going, we can make a Google group, or something similar. We can have different threads for different games, instead of having a jumble of posts on one thread for all of the home games. Whatever makes it easiest to navigate would be great, so please give suggestions! If anyone would like to volunteer to do that, or anything else, please speak up. I can do it, but I have trouble keeping up with what I have going on now,. So, if someone has time on their hands, and would like to do that, don’t be shy. Having said that… I will give it a shot if nobody else wants to do it. Maybe Ernie can help me with that, if the forum page gets up & running, perhaps?

I’ll start… I will definitely be at the Giants game on December 8th, to watch “dolphin-headed-draft-dodging” Eli Manning get his face driven into the turf by Mr. Liuget & Company! I will probably be attending at least one other game too, once I figure out what my schedule is.

What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? Yay, or Nay? Holla!
