Division-by-Division All-Pro Team: AFC West

Dave Dameshek of put together his list of division-by-division All-Pro Teams. Here is his list for the AFC West:

Coach: Andy Reid

OFFENSEQuarterback: Peyton Manning
Running back: Jamaal Charles
Wide receivers: Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe
Tight end: Antonio Gates
Offensive tackles: Ryan Clady, Brandon Albert
Guards: Louis Vasquez, Geoff Schwartz
Center: Nick Hardwick
DEFENSE (4-3)Defensive ends:Dwight Freeney, Tamba Hali
Defensive tackles: Tyson Jackson, Corey Liuget
Outside linebackers: Von Miller, Justin Houston
Inside linebacker: Derrick Johnson
Cornerback: Brandon Flowers, Champ Bailey
Safeties: Eric Berry, Eric Weddle

The very first thing to notice about the list, there are 5 Chargers on it. Second thing to notice, there are ZERO Raiders on the list. Last thing to notice, there are TEN Chiefs players on this list.

How is it that the Chiefs have some of the best players in the division, but they finished with the worst record in the NFL last season? Was Matt Cassell that ridiculously bad? DON’T ANSWER THAT! I hope Alex Smith continues that awfulness for them this season.

I think the list is solid. I can’t argue too much for any other Chargers to be on the list. I guess I could argue for Donald Butler, but that would be the only guy. I wonder if the Chargers can sneak anybody onto this list next season?

  • arnie

Who i would like on the list, off the top of my head. Reyes, T’eo, Brown, Thomas, Cox, Wright, Hardwick, PR, Fluker and i know i’m going to get heat for this, Jeromy freakin Clary…

    • Alter Ego

My man Arnie ! The O-line’s right side is officially the
      “Bitch Slap Highway” !

    • John Alton

      Hardwick is on the list.

      • arnie

My bad. He should be on there twice, without him everything would have fallen apart loooooong ago.

        • John Alton

Agreed, he is the rock of the line.

  • anabasis

More chiefs than Broncos? And no reece? pretty silly.

  • tubbs45

How the hell are Butler or Reyes not on this list???

    • C.Steele

Awesome Tubbs! Love the comment & throwing Jack in ..Priceless…I’ll give a pass on Reyes (Probably too early). But, Butler! Come on Ernie! Get your act together he’s a stud! #GoBolts

Turnovers & Matt Cassel are the number 1 reasons try playing from behind all year and having MATT FREAKING CASSEL get you back in the game .

  • FitzWilly

I bet you’re happy Matt Cass-Hole is gone
Alex Smith will be a welcome improvement

  • Alter Ego

Are you friggin BLIND – how could you miss the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
    Te’o – he ‘s right fucking there…

    • John Alton

Teo has not played a down in the NFL. He has not earned a spot on any All Pro list. He needs to play first and prove himself.

      • Alter Ego

Its a projected list for this year – I think Te’o will prove he should be on it. It’s an opinion.

        • John Alton

Its a list that is based off of past performance on the field that gives projections for the up coming season. Like I said, Teo has proven nothing other than he is good a practice. For all we know he may prove to be mediocre at best. We just don’t know. Thats my opinion.

  • Cgoodness13

I’m actually going to defend the raiders here, a healthy Mcfaden is better than Charles and should be on the list. And now all of a sudden Vasquez is on the broncos he’s such a good player? Bull crap. And Andy Reid as coach? Didn’t he just get fired? See this is why I don’t vote!!!……..because nobody voted on this lol

  • John Alton

This is a common sense All Pro team. Reading the below comments makes me laugh. Some people just over value players to much, especially rookies who have not even played a down in preseason. Good job on this one.

    • Alter Ego

Of course if the Chargers win the AFC – which is a goal – you will have many more names on the list that are Chargers.

      • John Alton

Thats a big if. Everything will have to be perfect for that to happen. There are too many questions that are still unanswered. The O-line, running back, secondary and the pass rush. Just to many questions marks with those areas. I am taking a practical approach to this season. I will be happy with a non losing season..
