Division-by-Division All-Pro Team: AFC West

Dave Dameshek of NFL.com put together his list of division-by-division All-Pro Teams. Here is his list for the AFC West:

Coach: Andy Reid

OFFENSEQuarterback: Peyton Manning
Running back: Jamaal Charles
Wide receivers: Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe
Tight end: Antonio Gates
Offensive tackles: Ryan Clady, Brandon Albert
Guards: Louis Vasquez, Geoff Schwartz
Center: Nick Hardwick
DEFENSE (4-3)Defensive ends:Dwight Freeney, Tamba Hali
Defensive tackles: Tyson Jackson, Corey Liuget
Outside linebackers: Von Miller, Justin Houston
Inside linebacker: Derrick Johnson
Cornerback: Brandon Flowers, Champ Bailey
Safeties: Eric Berry, Eric Weddle

The very first thing to notice about the list, there are 5 Chargers on it. Second thing to notice, there are ZERO Raiders on the list. Last thing to notice, there are TEN Chiefs players on this list.

How is it that the Chiefs have some of the best players in the division, but they finished with the worst record in the NFL last season? Was Matt Cassell that ridiculously bad? DON’T ANSWER THAT! I hope Alex Smith continues that awfulness for them this season.

I think the list is solid. I can’t argue too much for any other Chargers to be on the list. I guess I could argue for Donald Butler, but that would be the only guy. I wonder if the Chargers can sneak anybody onto this list next season?
