Ladarius Green: Another Option In The Chargers Passing Attack

Let’s talk about tight ends. Not the one on the New England Patriots, I think I am already tired of that story, but the national media will ride that story all the way till the end.

Let’s talk about a young tight end on the San Diego Chargers that hopefully get some opportunities this season. Ladarius Green will have to fight for some playing time, but he could be a mismatch that Mike McCoy and Ken Whisenhunt can use to exploit defenses on Sundays. He has the size and athleticism to be a difference maker. We saw a brief glimpse of his potential last season, but he didn’t get many opportunities after that.

Hopefully he has worked on his blocking and added a little more muscle this offseason. Those were a few things that pushed him down on the depth chart. Having a different coach in town should give him more opportunities though, especially if the coach uses Green’s strengths in the passing attack.

I can’t wait to see the kid get on the field this preseason and regular season. I think he could be another weapon for Philip Rivers and the offense.

I really hope he gets more playing time and production this year. I have no doubt that McCoy and Whiz will know how to use him better than Norv. And he just looks like a stud. Man, our passing attack is stacked with great players!

According to Ricky Henne on a Boltscast the other week, he said that Green had done exactly that… added some muscle & was better at blocking. So, that is encouraging to hear. We’ll see, but he could be a nice red-zone threat = )

I think the second coming of Gatesy is a little much, but he definitely could produce in a similar way. Mismatching with smaller, slower linebackers, especially in the red zone. Could get tons of TDs :)

I agree.. he’s no Gates… but, not many are.

I hope he gets a chance to Rock The Bolt this year! He has great hands. If he does well enough than I could give him the nickname I’ve wanted to give him since his draft date. Bruce Leeroy Green “Last Dragon” ~THE GLOW~
