Patriots Release Aaron Hernandez

Per NFL Network, immediately following the arrest of Aaron Hernandez, the Patriots have announced that they have released the Tight End.  I suspect they would not have released him if they did not think that very damaging chargers are going to be announced.

Great job Cindi! I’m glad you guys are on top of this as well! I think the fame and money got to him, after all he was only 22 when they offered him 5 year $40 million. That’s all gone now, he won’t be a tight end much longer.

    • Alter Ego

Are you and PakMan the same guy?

  • Stefanie Smith

Some of these guys out there believe the hype about themselves, don’t remain humble and forever thankful for an opportunity that many just as talented do not get. Plus, they do not remain focused on this one main goal–too many side issues, etc. Lose focus, lose the prize. The outside activities become more important. I know they are young-but this is the downside of a youth movement in the NFL. They see all this money and fame and focus on that, not on football and keeping what they have. They also forget that their NFL careers are not long and even in the best of situations, it will not last forever. This is what can happen.

Couldn’t agree more Stef. With the kind of money they get (even if the career is shorter than other occupations) they could set their family, and their family’s family up. Instead, a lot of them are rolling around town brandishing weapons in their cars (Elvis Dumervil)… getting popped @ 3am, drunk as a skunk, trying to enter a military facility (Kenny Britt).. Popping drug tests two minutes after you are in the NFL (Justin Blackmon).. and now, we have Hernandez under suspicion of murder, after allegedly shooting someone in the face before this even happened. These are just a few.. there are so many more.

On another note, do you have one of these yet, Stef? Saw this, and it made me think of you :D

I am going to get this immediately! I also have plans for Broncos’ voodoo dolls.

        Thanks for the link.

No problem.. I was trolling through Charger stuff on Amazon today. I am going to do a contest article soon, with prizes. I’ll pick a topic in one post, have people submit entries, and post the winners in another article. I thought that would be fun, since the offseason is so b-o-r-I-n-g.

I think he would have ended up in jail if he had been a plumber. It’s a shame that he threw away the world.

      or Bengals. ha

      • veazy

They already have Jermaine Gresham. I still don’t know why they drafted Tyler Eifert.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

more related to the fact that they bring on guys with checkered pasts.

    • Gunnar Martin

  • Alter Ego

    Hmmm…Meachem to the Pats?

  • Alter Ego

Just think… Hernandez may be out of his mind – he might look at the prison uniform and think he’s playing for the RAIDRRRS !

  • Alter Ego

That’s it…he’s off my draft board.

  • Alter Ego

    His next contract guarantees life.

  • Alter Ego

If Aaron had been a Charger…the Broncos would try to sign him.

  • shayaaa

Aaron Hernandez. Goes to jail as a tight end… comes out as a wide receiver.
