Denver Broncos Could Be Without Starting Center For Entire Season

Denver Broncos starting center JD Walton could be out for the whole season. He has to have another surgery on his busted ankle. Walton was the starting center for the Broncos for the last 3 seasons. He suffered an ankle injury last season that kept him out for the year and the Donkeys Broncos signed former Patriots C Dan Koppen to fill his spot.

Per Pro Football Talk:

According to Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post, center J.D. Walton had to have an additional surgery on his ankle this week which could mean he’ll miss the entire season. Broncos officials were holding out hope that if his recovery went smoothly, Walton might return for the second half of the year.

That target on Peyton Manning is getting a little more clear. The depth at their center position is thin. They have Quentin Saulsberry as the next man up on the roster. He is an undrafted guy that they picked up from the Minnesota Vikings. They probably should be looking to add another veteran center somewhere, but I don’t want to give them any ideas.

I will take a few blown protection calls and a couple of bad snaps against the Chargers. Thank you.
