Thank you San Diego was an awesome way of reaching out to the fan base and introduced a lot of new players to the city. This is something you would have never seen under “He who shall not be named.” New management is quickly putting their name on this team and is doing what it needs to do to get fans excited about Chargers football.
In sports we tend to idolize athletes which manifest itself in the worshipping of their behavior on and off the field and expressed in the collection of memorabilia. This psychopathological condition is first brought on to many of us when we are young and at our most impressionable stages of development. Many pictures I saw posted to Twitter included small children with players. This is an amazing experience for these families and one those kids will not forget. This will further entrench their idolization of athletes and make them long-term fans.
I can’t say enough good things about what management is doing and the direction they are taking this team. From the draft, to the depth added in FA and now with Thank you San Diego; this is a Chargers team I am proud to be a fan of.
And thank you TT, for changing this day from what AJ used to call it, which, borrowing from Ron Burgandy was “Go f**k yourself San Diego.”
