DJ Fluker Gives A Self-Eval… Barely Passing Right Now

DJ Fluker was asked to evaluate his play so far in JUNE and he graded himself out at a C+. GOOD. With the little birds chirping that DJ Fluker probably would look better as a guard, he better not be thinking that he was ranked in at an A.

That would be like when Antonio Gates thought that he should be ranked higher on the NFL Top 100. If you are struggling a little, it is better that you know about those struggles and try to fix those deficiencies.

“If I had a grade, I’m still a C student right now — I’d give myself a C-plus,” Fluker said. “But I’m still learning, and each time and each day, my understanding gets a whole lot better. My grade is going up.”

“It’ll come,” Fluker said. “All I need is to keep putting the time in to learn more and more. Each play I run, I’m going to make sure I don’t mess up on that same play twice or three times in a row. After that, it starts clicking. Sometimes, plays quick automatically when they’re communicating on the line, and I get it. Now, I’m a whole lot faster. It’s been coming and going, and one day, it’s going to click.

I have confidence in the kid. I think he is a bruiser and the Chargers will have a good offensive scheme to hide any of the deficiencies that he has and they will take advantage of his physical run blocking style.

He’s a C+. It’s June. He might be a harsh critic. I can’t wait to see him in a real game.

Accountability love it! Dude wants to play and be successful. With his attitude I give him a B- :)

      Haha

Month isnt over yet. I guess I’m just having high hopes for dude. Our Bolts need a solid O line.

Even if he’s not at an A by September, I really think he’ll get there before the season’s end. And remember, the strength of his game is getting his hands on people and mauling them. He can’t do that in shorts.

Besides, Clary was a C- at RT. So Fluker’s already a step up!

Keep talking shit about Gates and keep calling urself a fan, smfh….

You are my fave will… So you think Gates did well last year? Tell me about it. How many yards did he average per game? Tell me why you think I’m wrong instead of just talking trash. I’m surprised you used your name and didn’t use mine.

It goes beyond the simple stats.

With the exception of Gronk and Witten, every elite TE had a prolific passing game around them in which they were essentially the #2 or 3 option. Gates has always been the #1 option in SD. Last year he had little help from the WRs – meaning he saw constant double teams (sometimes triple) – and a QB on the run.

Put him in a situation like Graham and Gonzales have and I think Gates will play well.

Nice, A reality based athlete! #GoBolts!

This dude better have his A game ready on Monday Night, JJ Watt will have his going for sure. Might almost be criminal to let him out there against that guy. I don’t want to see that damn no-no finger.

Rates himself at a C+ right now. Very good. Not down on himself and yet has the inner confidence you expect from the12th pick in the draft. Also doesn’t say anything boastfully. He realizes that quickness will come once he doesn’t have to think too much out there; once his muscle memory takes over. Of course he’ll always have to think some out there. I wonder where his coaches and teammates would rate now in a scale against where they would expect him to be as a rookie and also rate him as a starting RT in the NFL?
Personally, I’m fine with his self evaluation at this point. Hope it’s accurate or even underrating himself and like he said, that he’s putting in the work (which would bode well with his teammates) and improving every day.
