DJ Fluker Signs 4-Year, $11.4 Million Deal. $6.6 Million Signing Bonus

DJ Fluker has officially signed his contract with the San Diego Chargers. All of the Chargers draft picks are under contract. Fluker is signed for 4 years and the $11.4 million deal is fully guaranteed. He has a $6.672 million signing bonus and a 5th year option on the deal.

Fluker had to wait till after June 1 to sign his deal. The Chargers needed to get Jared Gaither‘s contract off of the books in order to make room for the rookie. Now that the rookie is signed, the Chargers might look to adding a few miscellaneous veteran pieces onto the roster.

Happy to have the BRUISER signed onto the roster and look forward to seeing him beat up on some defensive players.

I don’t care what position he ends up being a pro bowler in. I’m just glad he’s in a bolts uniform for the next decade!

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      agreed

    • MC Boltman

Really? I like that positive vibe…but I´ve to be honest – I´d be pretty disappointed (maybe even pissed) if he isn´t able to play right tackle for the Bolts…sorry for the real talk, but I have to speak my mind once in a while :)

      • tubbs45

        totally agree.

      • Rob Base

        For sure bro agreed!

  • Stefanie Smith

I think he is getting a lot of money, but it is set in stone by the NFLPA. Sort of shocking where he ranks on the Chargers’ pay scale compared to others when he has not yet made an NFL play.

    • PakMaN

I actually think it’s a decent amount. These guys really bust their ass their entire lives to get to this point.

      • PakMaN

Then again I felt the same way about Ryan Mathews before he let me down. I was thinking damn this guys lived in a car most of his life, now he’s got 15 million he’s going to kick serious ass. Yup.. that didn’t work out too well.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

          yet?

          • PakMaN

I’m ready to move on honestly. First it was his bloody noses during impact, then his fumbles, and now his clavicles are on vacation. I guess i set myself up for disappointment by purchasing two jerseys (one to wear, one to frame) coming out of the draft.

          • Stefanie Smith

It will be okay, PakMan. And you are right. These players do bust their butts. But the rookie shouldn’t be paid more than somebody with experience. But the rookie pay scale range is sort of set in stone with the NFL-NFLPA agreement.

And all of these young guys have to get off the PEDs. Guys at work were saying a lot of the young guys are taking mega doses of testosterone. All that crap cannot be good. No wonder they are bulked up on the outside, but are falling apart internally.

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

The PEDS scare me the most. Seattle is getting a big dose of that stupid behavior from their young players. I hope none of these new young guys on the team are snorting testosterone, or shooting up Rhinoceros adrenaline or anything… Hahaha!

            = )

          • joerockt

He’s had plenty of chances (3 years) to prove that “yet”. You can either perform and survive at this level or you can’t

  • jamfed

    GOOD! Lets pave some roadway!

  • Stefanie Smith

More cuts coming. Fluker’s signing bonus (partial hit) and his salary, is probably going to get us close to being tapped out. When I looked at http://www.overthecap.com we had an estimated $7,876,926.00 remaining. This is without Fluker figured in.

    • JoseSD

Yeah but 11.4 over 4 years isnt that big of a dent and the amount usually increases so the first year isnt too big, should have enough to add another d line and DB with more room to spare after cuts

      • Stefanie Smith

You got me thinking. If that $6 mill signing bonus is part of the total 11.4 mill, then you are right. That isn’t so bad and TT could make a few moves.

        • JoseSD

I don’t think it is but seeing how it’s a 4 yr deal im just guessing but say it’s spread like this 2 mil the first year then 2.5,3, 3.9 it’s not too much of a big cap hit plus I think the signing bonus is also spread out through the deal. Overall I think it’s a great deal for such a high pick

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

That would be awesome. Just gotta make sure we save some cash for a rainy day too… Just in case ; )

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I’m curious to see if they will cut anybody. I it seems like they may need to… But….

    • joerockt

      CLARY.

  • JoseSD

Gotta love the Rookie wage scale, every draft pick signed by the first week of June, that was unheard of a couple seasons ago. And 4 years $11.4 for a top 11 pick is great. That used to be late first early second round type of money

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Seriously… It was so frustrating before.

      • tubbs45

He would have been at least a $40 million dollar man with no out clauses…

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

This is great news… now… let’s see what else we have in store!

  • tubbs45

Time to flatten some defensive fools!

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      crushin fools!!!

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

      Love it!!!

  • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i think this should be a shirt….. just switch the face with fluker’s and we will be good

    • tubbs45

      Bahahahahahah!!! Love it!

  • Alter Ego

Yippee ! Pancakes served by Fluker for years!

  • Rob Base

Dude is getting paid so he better play like a RT no guard bullshit! No more first round bust please Mr Football God. Amen

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Pretty please

  • Rob Base

DJ Flucker is the next Bone Crusher haha
    I ain’t never scared!
