Bovada just sent out the over/under win totals for the league and here is how the AFC West stands at this point in the season:

San Diego Chargers – 2013 Regular Season Win Total
Over 7½ (EVEN)
Under 7½ (-130)

Oakland Raiders – 2013 Regular Season Win Total
Over 5½ (+120)
Under 5½ (-150)

Kansas City Chiefs – 2013 Regular Season Win Total
Over 7 (-130)
Under 7 (EVEN)

Denver Broncos – 2013 Regular Season Win Total
Over 11½ (EVEN)
Under 11½ (-130)

The Chargers are projected to finish 2nd in the division behind the Denver Broncos, but our over/under total is just a 1/2 game higher than the Chiefs. It seems that Vegas is impressed with the moves that the Chiefs have made this offseason. They finished last in the league last season and now have an over/under of 7.

7 1/2 wins! Add 2 wins to that total if all things go good. The head coaching and team have to mesh quickly and the team has to be fairly healthy.

If things don’t work out in our way, then we could be sitting at 7 wins again.

10-6, call me a homer but that’s where I see us. (at the very least 10 wins).

  • tubbs45

Man those are some tough odds. Only bet worth it’s salt would be the one I’d never put money…Raiders +5 1/2.

I won money in Vegas last year betting against the Raiders. I rubbed it in my neighbors face BIG TIME! He is a HUGE Raider fan. Not even kidding, he has this Raidered out suburban that he takes to car shows every weekend! I have to look at that ugly POS everyday leaving my house! He also has a Land Rover & a sedan that is silver & black too… only buys Raider colored cars (weirdo). He usually takes any opportunity to rub it in, when the Chargers lose… But, last year he was SO pissed off about their season, that he would avoid me like the plague… hahaha! I’d be like “Hey Tim!!! What happened, man??”.. and he would just keep walking, and ignore me. Sometimes, I could tell he would make sure I wasn’t outside before he went to his ugly ass car. Classic!

        Gotta love Raider fans.

        Not.

Betting against the Raiders is always an option for me!

Last year I had a total metldown when a bleacher report writer put us at 7 wins. I think I’m gonna keep quiet this year. At least until the regular season.. hahaha!

      Lol me too

I’m gonna guess 10-6 as well, I have faith we can do some damage and not have meltdowns like last season. The new O-line should mean all the difference in the world for PR and with his WR core being quite excellent I Think he’s going to have a huge year.

10-6 will get them in the playoffs. Get in to the tournament and don’t turn back.

Slightly off subject: Last night on the news, after they reported on the Starks signing, they had Rivers on for a minute–he said something like it’s like Christmas. That tells me he is hopeful and things are looking good over there.

Another bit of news: 9ers’ Crabtree torn Achilles tendon in OTAs–come on. Is it the PEDs or what? OTAs are supposed to be cakewalks. What is going on? Why are all these guys getting really injured so easily?

    • joerockt

Wow crazy, Crabtree did me well in my FFL last year.

I think its a combination of things. Though sometimes when you take it “easy” is usually when you can get hurt the most. Makes you wonder what these guys do in the off season to stay in shape/game form.

  • joerockt

I’d take that Over. Haven’t had this good of a feeling for the season for a few years now. TT gave MM more or less the tools to have a successful season. The big unknowns right now are the play calling and game management. I’m assuming that KW will be calling the plays though. I wonder if he’ll take the booth or walk the sidelines? Just did a search and I found that when he was the OC for the Steelers, he was in the booth. I like that, we’ll see if he does it here.

Interesting. I never thought about that. You think he might pull the Mike Martz, and be the eye in sky, eh?

  • Ioane

With the new found energy and strength of schedule. I say we win 10 games.

What was the over under for the Chiefs last season? The talking heads were praising them last off season and they ended up with the first overall pick in the draft.

  • Sergio Quintero

Last year’s team won 7 games, I look at this team somewhere between 2-3 games better, and I admit I am not the most optimistic hommer out there.

I expect better schemes, that make Rivers & Mathews more productive, a rising defense & 2nd easiest schedule 9-10 wins is realistic prognostication.

I don’t see how anybody can make an educated guess until we see them play.
